![]() Durogru | 12K shieldslam crit.
As someone who started arenaing as prot I'm psyched about the incredible face mashing destruction my shield slam is going to be doing to people. Frankly, it's nice having a warrior spec that survives well and can reduce a player into a pile of people-slurry. But I can't believe this will go through as planned. The doubling of block value is going to have warrior damage for shield slams probably in the quintuple digits (with just lovanthers talisman I've done 12K in the past). I can't help but wonder how this, and it will inevitably, is going to be nerfed. I'd really like to know before hand so I can brace for impact, not as a PvPer but as a tank. As it stands Shieldslam is my primary burst as prot in PvP, and my highest threat priority, it's nothing dramatic in pvp being 5 or 6 K on a crit with shield block up and frenzied, but it hit's pretty damned reliably and has a nice secondary effect of dispelling. With the doubling of block value going in I'm going to be assembling a pure block set for pvp. Because if you guys leave it like this, I will take advantage of this. I'll crush people into paste with a shieldslam and I'll even argue that it's fair because I'll like it. But it won't be. What's going to be done about it in PvP without effecting PvE? Will this inevitable (I feel) nerf make prot virtually unviable or will you as developers try to keep the burst on this ability at about where it is now (which is pretty fair all things considered as it currently stands) so we can remain competitive? I ask because it's a very interesting spec to play in pvp for starters it's the closest thing to a mellee drain spec I've found - that is I just prickishly survive everything and wear them down inevitably. I aqlso like it from a flavour point. Arena and PvP for warriors and most mellee in the past outside of rogues has been two handers and Sword and Board has gone overlooked, the way warrior tanking abilities work now makes this previously unseen weapon strategy not only viable but succesful if played well. Don't nerf me bro! Or more accuratly, don't shieldslam prot warriors into oblivion just because of one ability that you can adjust fairly rather than overkilling it. I like this play style and I enjoy PvPing it, I just hope you'll start supporting it. But if you leave it the way it is it's going to be taken advantage of, and you have a history of overkilling things you only need to nerf abit. My point is fix it now before we have to see it stripped away later. |
