Source Why am I downloading patch 3.1?

Furrytractor		"Blizzard Background Downloader" Has been downloading the "WoW-3.0.9.9551-to-3.1.0-enUS-patch" for about the last 12 hours. Am I downloading something for the PTR or something? I'm not on the PTR so I don't know how this would've started downloading..

Or am are one of you jerks hacking me? LoL. But seriously, anyone know what this is? It is currently at 279 of 555 MB.

The Background Downloader starts downloading data for the next patch ahead of time. As you can see, patch 3.1 is a big patch, so when the patch launches you may only need to download an additional 100MB (yes, this number was pulled out of a hat) instead of the full thing to allow you to install and get in the game faster.
