This thread will contain information on the free character moves we currently have available to assist in population dispersal. In the event that these realms meet our transfer goals before the scheduled end date, the transfers to that realm will be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience. No characters will be eligible for these free moves once the transfers have been closed.

These transfers are scheduled to close on Wednesday, January 14, at 12:00 pm PST (January 15, 7:00 am AEDT) provided our transfer goal is not reached prior to this time.

I don't have an answer to that at this time. This is contingent on the number of transfers to Drak'Tharon. If the realm fills up beyond our expectations and we close free transfers early, there is a chance paid transfers to Drak'Tharon will be disabled to avoid impacting the realm.

Paid transfers should technically be available to Drak'Tharon now. They will remain open if the realm does not fill.

Regarding draenor only having 20 - 30 min wait that is a little on the minimum side during the weekdays around 5-8 it is not uncommon to be waiting more like 40 -60 minutes.

We do plan to open transfers from Draenor (among many other PVE realms) as soon as the request goes through the proper channels.

When you get to PVE realms, please, do something about Stormrage. We get queues of 500+, but the thing that's killing me is that the server is the most unbalanced server of them all:

Alliance: 12,990 (84%) Horde: 2,510 (16%) Ratio: 6.8

Maybe doing something that alliance could leave to a destination realm and horde would be able to move onto this server for free? It's almost a ratio of 7 alliance for 1 horde!

Stormrage is certainly on our watch list. Unfortunately there are scores of PVE realms with much higher nightly queues than Stormrage, so we will not be offering free transfers from this realm in the very immediate future.

As far as faction populations on Stormrage go, the biggest gaps in the last 7 days between the Alliance and the Horde reflect just over a 2:1 ratio on average. It's not ideal, but certainly not extreme by any means. Granted this data does not reflect player level, however, it's good to note that there are no odd spikes in concurrency for either faction in the last 7 days.

Is there ANY way we might see transfers from overpopulated PvP servers to PvE servers? A significant portion of my guild on Lightning's Blade have grown weary of the PvP scene and desperately want off to a PvE server, but not at $25 per character; like many players we have several max level alts. No one wants to leave if it's going to cost us $100 or more.

Working to remove queues is great and all (queues suck), but please, give us some options!


We will be monitoring these transfers very closely and may open up additional transfer options in the future. Nothing is guaranteed though, and for now the plan is to let this transfer process run its course for the list of PVP/RPPVP realms before allowing free transfers to any additional destination realms.

Any ETA on PvE realms. Getting ansy..I really want off Cenarion Circle an its insane daily queues.

We're going through the proper checks right now to get the new realm functioning. AQ gates, Sunwell event, raid ids assigning properly, etc. all have to be tested to ensure things are good to go. We're hoping to open up transfers from some of our PVE realms within the hour. I'll create a separate sticky for those transfers when they're live.

Uldum's highest queue in the last 7 days was 229. There is no queue to get on your realm at the moment. To put this in perspective, some of the realms currently allotted free transfers are well above the 1,000 queue mark as I type.

can someone help me on this? i have a character i wouldn't mind transfering off of warsong, but it says the destination realm is "eastern". i live on the east coast of canada, so would that be for me? or does it mean like china/india as eastern.

It's eastern United States, so it'd be the ideal choice for you. All of the realms transferring to Tortheldrin are listed as eastern realms.

This is true. But I still feel that RP and RP/PvP servers should be separate from normal PvE and PvP servers. They've given us a unique tag, so they should give us the same courtesy as they give other unique realm-types.

I'm with you on this and am fully aware that there are two RP realms and one RP-PvP realm currently eligible for transfers, but only to PvP or PvE realms respectively. It's definitely not an ideal situation, nor is the RP ruleset something we've shrugged off. We did carefully evaluate population, faction, and queue data from all realms with the RP ruleset. Unfortunately at this time, the most immediate and feasible solution is to offer transfers from RP to PvE, and RP-PvP to PvP. We are unable to justify opening new RP or RP-PvP realms at the moment, and it wouldn't be a very good idea to try and shuffle players between various existing RP and RP-PvP realms right now given the numbers.

With that said, we fully understand this will affect whether or not many players would choose to move from high-population realms with the RP ruleset and hope to provide better accommodations in the future.
