This is the feedback thread for the Blood-Queen Lana'thel encounter in Icecrown Citadel.
Please note if you're doing this in 10 or 25 player mode.

The doors were opened eventually with a hotfix. There was no favouritism involved. There was a bug, then we fixed it. This kind of thing happens on a test realm, and test realms are not always the right place for everyone as they can be frustrating.
Swearing and posting abusive messages on the forums is not OK -- not only are these messages unhelpful but they straight out break our forum rules. The thread has been cleaned up somewhat.
Thanks for everyone who was able to wait patiently and provide some helpful feedback.

That's understandable, but again this is sometimes the way things are on test realms. There are multiple test realms being monitored by our developers, and though I am sure they would like to be more informative and helpful while they are monitoring the encounters and working on the PTR, sometimes this just isn't possible.Quote:
We only want to be informed about this.
The last time there was a locked door, a serverwide message was broadcasted "Post in General we open it".
This time nothing happend. No server message; no forum post.
It would've been enough to see "Working on a hotfix, we dont know, when it will be ready. Until then, write in General we try to open some doors manually [if that was the case, don't know]. Sorry for the inconvinience" ;)
Having no information is really depressing :/
We state, again and again that we really do appreciate that people want to help test the upcoming content and I can only reiterate this. But ultimately if your experiences on the PTR are too frustrating for you, then it may be that it is just not the best environment for you to be in.

So you're feeling that if it was simple to open it individually for each guild eager to test, then surely it was just as easy to open it for all? If so, then quite simply it appears once the issue was noticed, though some devs were able to open doors individually and did so as they were able, most of the focus was on creating and building a hotfix to fix the issue completely. Which seems to be what happened.Quote:
not a shot at your guild, im just saying that the developers must have been aware that the door were not working since they opened it for some guilds, ergo the blue post does not make any sense.

We realise the experience with testing the Blood-Queen last night was frustrating for some, as can be the case over and over again on a test realm. And we realise that opening doors for individual guilds as we became aware of them, and before we were able to release a hotfix, has caused some people to feel there was a sense of favouritism as their raid group had been left without any similar individual assistance from a designer. This was unfortunate and we will try and prevent these scenarios from reoccuring in the future. Thanks for your understanding, we appreciate your perseverance, folks.
