3.0.8 PTR - Build 9438

PTRs are up, so more info will be coming over time. Note: Spell/skill/glyph descriptions and changes courtesy of wotlkwiki

Tailoring

  • [Tailoring: Ebonweave] now requires you to be in the Maw of Neltharion in Dragonblight.  Materials unchanged. (Old: Altar of the Ebon Depths in the Forgotten Depths beneath Icecrown Citadel.)
  • [Tailoring: Spellweave] now requires you to be in the Azure Dragonshrine in Dragonblight.  Materials unchanged.  (Old: The Nexus in Coldarra.)

Classes

Posted Image Death Knight (Skills / Talents / Glyphs)

Blood
  • Will of the Necropolis - Damage that would take you below 35% health is reduced by 5/10/15%.
Frost
  • Killing Machine - Your melee attacks have a chance to make your next Icy Touch, Howling Blast or Frost Strike a critical strike. (GC on New Killing Machine).
Unholy
  • Necrosis - Your auto attacks deal an additional 4/8/12/16/20% Shadow damage. (Was 2/4/6/8/10%.)
  • Anti-Magic Zone - Duration changed from 30 to 10 seconds.
  • Summon Gargoyle - Duration changed from 60 to 30 seconds.
  • Shadow of Death - 15 minute cooldown added.
  • Virulence - Increases your chance to hit with your spells by 1% and reduces the chance that your damage over time diseases can be cured by 10/20/30%.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Anti-Magic Shell - Increases the duration of your Anti-Magic Shell by 2.0 sec.
  • Glyph of Death Strike - Increases your Death Strike's damage by 2% for every 5 runic power you currently have. The runic power is not consumed by this effect.
  • Glyph of Bone Shield - Adds 2 additional charges to your Bone Shield.
  • Glyph of Obliterate - Increases the damage of your Obliterate ability by 20%.
  • Glyph of Raise Dead - Your Raise Dead spell no longer requires a reagent.
  • Glyph of Death and Decay - Damage of your Death and Decay spell increased by 20%.

Balance
  • Subtlety - Reduces the threat generated by your restoration spells by 10/20/30% and reduces the chance your helpful spells, Moonfire, and Insect Swarm will be dispelled by 10/20/30%.
Restoration
  • Moonglow - Now works on Nourish and Wild Growth.

Marksmanship
  • Improved Stings - Increases the damage done by your Serpent Sting and Wyvern Sting by 30% and the mana drained by your Viper Sting by 10/20/30%. In addition, reduces the chance your Sting damage over time effects will be dispelled by 10/20/30%.
Beast Mastery
  • Ferocious Inspiration - In addition, increases the damage dealt by Arcane Shot by 3/6/9%.
Survival
  • Lock and Load - Has a 30 second cooldown.
  • Explosive Shot - Damage reduced to [RAP * 0.16 + 428.0]-[RAP * 0.16 + 516.0] from [RAP * 0.18 + 476.0]-[RAP * 0.18 + 572.0].
Pets
  • Spirit Strike - All ranks saw a damage decrease.
  • Rake - All ranks saw a damage increase.
  • Scorpid Poison - Cooldown removed, as well as "Effect can stack up to 5 times on a single target."

Arcane
  • Arcane Subtlety - Reduces the chance your helpful spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled by 15/30% and reduces the threat caused by your Arcane spells by 20/40%.
  • Slow Fall - Now can be cast on other players.
  • Incanter's Absorption - Total spell damage increase cannot exceed 5% of your health.
  • Polymorph - Penguin - Range reduced to 8 yards from 30.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Arcane Blast - Increases the damage from your Arcane Blast buff by 5%.
  • Glyph of Invisibility - Increases the duration of the Invisibility effect by 10 sec.

Protection
  • Stoicism - Reduces the duration of all Stun effects by an additional 10/20/30% and reduces the chance your helpful spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled by an additional 10/20/30%.
Retribution
  • Hammer of Wrath - Only usable on enemies that have 20% or less health. Down from 35%.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Hammer of Justice - Increases your Hammer of Justice range by 5 yards.

Discipline
  • Silent Resolve - Now reduces the chance your helpful spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled.
  • Levitate - Can now be cast on other players.
Shadow
  • Shadowform - You may cast Cure Disease and Abolish Disease while in Shadowform.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Spirit of Redemption - Increases the duration of Spirit of Redemption by 6.0 sec.
  • Glyph of Mind Flay - Increases the range of your Mind Flay spell by 10 yards, but it only reduces the target's movement speed by 10.0%.

Assassination
  • Vile Poisons - Now gives your damage over time poisons an additional 10/20/30% chance to resist dispel effects.

Posted Image Shaman (Skills / Talents / Glyphs)

Elemental
  • Storm, Earth and Fire - Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning spell by 0.75/1.5/2.5 sec, your Earth Shock and Wind Shock range is increased by 5 yards and the periodic damage done by your Flame Shock is increased by 60%.
Restoration
  • Healing Grace - Reduces the threat generated by your healing spells by 5/10/15% and reduces the chance your helpful spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled by 10/20/30%.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Shocking - Reduces the global cooldown triggered by your shock spells by 0.5 sec.

Affliction
  • Contagion - Now reduces the chance your helpful Affliction spells and damage over time effects will be dispelled.
Demonology
  • Demonic Circle: Teleport - Teleports you to your Demonic Circle and removes all snare effects.
  • Demon Armor - All ranks had armor increase, max rank is now 2100 from 950.
Glyphs
  • Glyph of Conflagrate - Your Conflagrate spell no longer consumes your Immolate or Shadowflame spell from the target. (GC on Warlock Glyphs)

Warrior (Skills / Talents / Glyphs)
Arms

* Sudden Death - This Execute only uses up to 30 total rage. (GC on Sudden Death change)

Blizzard have to be warrior haters for nerfing warrior dps in this stage of the game.
Paladins are op, DK's are op, but noooo nerf warriors.
This is happening since the vanilla and i am sick of it.

One of the most annoying abilities in the game, possibly on par with Mace Stuns.

What I do like here is the way they've changed dispel resistances to only affect DoTs and beneficial spells, no more:

You cast Cleanse.
Your Cleanse failed, Xxlegolasxx's Viper Sting resisted.
You cast Cleanse.
Your Cleanse failed, Xxlegolasxx's Viper Sting resisted.
You cast Cleanse.
Your Cleanse failed, Xxlegolasxx's Viper Sting resisted.
You cast Cleanse.
Your Cleanse failed, Xxlegolasxx's Viper Sting resisted.
You cast Cleanse.
Your Cleanse failed, Xxlegolasxx's Viper Sting resisted.
You fail to cast Cleanse, you are out of mana.

I'm abit unsure as to how this new dispel system works.

Lets say I have Siphon life, Corruption and fear on one target, I guess the new dispell will always target that fear first if it's casted.

But what if I have Siphon life, Corruption, UNSTABLE AFFLICTION and Fear on the same target, what will happen if dispell is casted??

As long as my AU "protects" my fear I think this is awsome.

I am not sure exactly how it will work but I suppose that the selection of spell will still be "random". The change is that Fear will not be protected by the talent.

Not sure if this is new, I didn't see it noted in official patch notes:

Inscription
Ethereal ink now learned at 290.

(This used to be a block to levelling inscription).

I found this by coincidence just now on PTR, my hunter needed it.

Okay, the S&D glyph needed a nerf, it was just too cool. I am grateful for the new glyph of the ghoul however. But what REALLY makes me sad is the loss of the new BS sword. Yes, I can see the reasoning, but that was my best shot of being able to get a sword with the supercool skin of our original starting sword. Instead, I'm stuck with this big, stupid mace...

Is this part for real? It seems a bit unnecessary. I'm thinking that for a glyph that is purely aesthetic adding a penalty puts it amoung the least desirable glyphs in the game.

Next we're going to see:
Glyph of the Polar Bear - Cause Dire Bear form to appear as a Polar Bear but removes the armor and health bonuses of Dire Bear form.

April fool's joke a little early or just pure fail in design?

I hope scribes will get they own pimped version of Greater inscription of the Gladiator, otherwise their special profession bonus will become useless in certain situations and beside their pimped shoulder enchants scribes don't really get anything that is worthy. Its expensive to level up and its not really generating to much wealth at max level.

I agree with Albertmarty! Its no point in using a glyph that gives a visual upgrade and has decreases the range of your spell.
