Death Knight - New talent trees are up on the official talent calculators, however they contain a few bugs. These changes will be available to players for testing in the next patch.

It's a really small patch (22.5mb) compared to the previous one (240mb), it seems to be a bugfix patch (i.e Runic Power is now decaying after a fight), also no class changes were noticed. However you can read about some of the next build class changes
here.

Updates

- The Dalaran battleground room for both factions has been graphically updated (before, after)
Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image
- Alchemical Blood renamed to Mixology, the tooltip description also changed to only affect elixirs and flasks now (was potions, elixirs & flasks)
- Hunter: 2 new stable slots for 50 and 150 gold.
- You can now compare achievements with other players. (screenshots: 1, 2, 3)

Threat meter

Yesterday, Bornakk hinted at built-in threat meter, and guess what, it's now live on beta servers.
We made some tests in-game to see how it works:

B.E.T.A. This is a first implementation of the thing, it's still quite likely they might add more to it.

Besides that, I think the important thing about this is that exact threat values should be very easy to retrieve for addon purposes, which means we can expect threat meters in wotlk to be far more accurate, react better to changes, and be even more lightweight than the ones we've been using in TBC and before. Furthermore, you'll be able to see the threat of even those people who didn't download an addon and can't even see their own.

So even if they don't add anything else, I'm quite excited about the possibilities of ingame reported threat.

Its nice they are adding an in Game Threat Meter but needs to have some work done before it is really viable. A config Window, the ability to have it where you want it etc.

Man Omen is going to have to do some MAJOR changes. But hopefully this will help speed up the processing speed showing overall threat and whatnot. :D

Personally I just think it will be harder with accurate threat than before. And changes in bugged threat will take alot longer time to fix as blizz probably need to patch these things to get them right. But I buy lightweight. :D

i was lookin to see what changes were made to dk talents this push and i dunno if it's like this on the beta realms but the blizz talent calcs in the frost tree are kinda messed up. Icy talons requires 5/5 imp icy touch, but now icy touch is only a 3/3 skill yet icy talon still says it requires 5/5 imp icy touch.

no doubt that someone has noticed it, but posting it here makes me feel somewhat important as i wait with high hopes for a beta opt-in lol

Do you mean hard for the third party threat meters? In a way, I think you're both right and wrong. The initial update will be long and hard for the programers, especially to get it right to how their's currently work, but once they get it right, that's it, done. They wont have to do any updates from that point on, where as when you look at it now, they update every other week as they tweek values.

Interesting change with the threat meters, will hopefully be for the better in the end.

Hmmm so first, they prevent chain chugging of pots.
Then, they make this new skill, mixology, not affect pots.

They better compensate pot masters in some way or they're gonna start being rare -_-

I don't see how it will be harder. Blizzard's threat system is there and working, the numbers for the threat are already there, and it controls the entire aggro system ingame. Since this is an internal threat counter, then presumably it just uses the exact threat values the game already uses for aggro.

If this is the case then how can it ever be wrong? If the wrong threat values are reported it's because the threat itself is bugged and the aggro ingame will have the same problem.

Sure it'll take a little work to rewrite addons initially, but all addons will need rewritten as usual.

I use diamond threat meter and I like it way more than either omen or ktm. noone else has to have a threat meter for you to see them on diamond. :)

You guys aren't getting the big picture about the built-in threat meter. Current threat meters are all 100% ESTIMATION-based. a built-in threat meter will likely mean actual threat APIs, which means 100% EXACT threat values for Omen (or KTM if anyone still uses that). No more "WTF I was at the bottom of the meter!" wiping your raid.

I think they removed it because the alchemist trinkets state that they wont stack with similar affects, so instead of making the trankets useless, they removed pots from this passive buff.
