One of the new things in the old world brought by WotLK is a subzone named Shaper's Terrace in Un'goro Crater that is inaccessible from Un'goro, only through teleportation from elsewhere. This article is about the subzone's function we found out about yesterday thanks to Jaiom.

When the Titans shaped the world, there was a lot of experimenting and iteration. Their testing areas are thus protected with very powerful defense mechanisms, which in the case of Sholazar Basin is 5 pillars that emit pure lifeforce.

Freya, daughter of the titans left its avatar in the zone and charged it with protecting the area, but one of the pillar was destroyed as it can be seen on the North-East segment of the zonemap, in the form of an avalance and all the brown areas.

As it turns out the trouble is caused by the Cult of the Damned who are trying to help the Lich King's invasion plans. From the neighbouring Icecrown Glacier that really wouldn't take a big effort.

So we're helping the Avatar of Freya get a hold of things. After a few quests she realizes however that solving the problem will take more than a single man, so after a few preparation steps she helps us power up the waygate (the titan name of a teleport / portal) that hasn't been used in over seven centuries. Taking the waygate we find ourselves in Un'goro facing a colossal weapon called The Etymidian. Sadly it's not active.

In the closeby building we find the Omega Rune that helps us power up the stonebeing / weapon / peacemaker. Quickly teleport back to Sholazar Basin to the questgiver, who now helps us deploy the weapon. When taken control of it, it makes an incredible destruction, like 20k misses (joke) everywhere! :) Destroying 203 mobs in a very short time with this monster is a LOT of fun! Oh and the reward for the questline is a level 78 blue hat, that strongly resembles the quality of the Second Sight hats in Shadowmoon Valley.

Extremely cool questline (first batch, second batch), lots of titan lore and the end is just pure fun. As soon as you get a chance, absolutely do this one!

Level 78 Helm Rewards:

Considering the shaman at that picture is lvl.77 (the one that you "unfreeze" your mount at), there is nothing shocking ;)

Looks like a great quest, looking forward to it!

I'm really grateful of these new quests. Seems like questing will be a lot of fun now, instead of the simple and repeated "go there and kill number of these"

Since he was riding one. The quest to fly again is in Sholazar and is quick.

Looks awesome , I really enjoy doing lore quest chains and hate "kill 10 boars" quests :P
I would like to see more long chains , but more solo-friendly! (don't get me wrong , i love party/raid quests as well, but not during leveling process)

Can you give more details on this little quest? Does it involve "defrosting" our flying mounts or what?

And kudos on this quest chain, looks nice. Gotta wonder when the Titans will stop using Avatars and just show up themselves. Blizz saving them for a Titan expansion? :)

*edit*
If you die in Shaper's Terrace, what happens? Get sent to the Marshal's Refuge graveyard with no way back up? That could be inconvenient. I assume the area is safe, but on a pvp server, Shaper's Terrace will probably have a few deaths.

Good, they are filling out spots in the old world... so that we may fly there one day!
Your fate will be orbital bombardment.

Not exactly. Even the new Stormwind Harbor uses a bunch of floating 2D textures.

Has anyone noticed that the cloth helm quest reward has
critical strike rating on it instead of spell critical strike rating?
