The official Wrath of the Lich King talent calculators have been updated!

While most of the changes are tooltip clarifications and new icons for the placeholders, there are a few bigger changes as well:

• Enhancement Shaman's Maelstrom Weapon now makes any spell instant cast when stacked to 5, not just Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning or Lava Burst. New tooltip: When you critically hit with a melee weapon, you reduce the cast time of your next spell by 4/8/12/16/20%. Stacks up to 5 times. Lasts 15 seconds. (talent location)
  
• Retribution Paladin
  • Improved Blessing of Might buffed: Increases the attack power bonus of your Blessing of Might by 10/20/30/40/50%. (talent location)
    
  • Vindication now gives a 20% debuff for 2 talent points instead of 15% for 3. New tooltip: Gives the Paladin's damaging attacks a chance to reduce the target's attributes by 10/20% for 15 sec. (talent location)
    
  • Pursuit of Justice reduced to 2 talent points. New tooltip: Reduces the chance you'll be hit by spells by 1/2% and increases movement and mounted movement speed by 8/15%. This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects. (talent location)
    
  
  
• Arcane Mage
  
  • Arcane Impact (tier 3) changed to Spell Impact proccing off many more spells. Tooltip: Increases the critical strike chance of your Arcane Explosion, ArcaneBlast, Blast Wave, Fire Blast, Ice Lance, Cone of Cold spells by an additional 2/4/6%.
    
  • Arcane Potency (tier 6) no longer requires 5 points in Arcane Concentration (tier 2), but 1 point in Presence of Mind.
    
  • Student of Mind (tier 9) moved to Tier 3.
    
  • Potent Spirit (tier 8) replaced with Mind Mastery. New tooltip: Increases spell damage by up to 5/10/15/20/25% of your total intellect.
    
  • Netherwind Presence (tier 10) moved to Tier 9 to replace Student of Mind. The talent has also been reworked to give 6% passive haste. New tooltip: Increases your spell haste by 2/4/6%.
    
  • Missile Barrage (tier 10) new talent to replace Netherwind Presence's instant casts with faster Arcane Missiles. Tooltip: Gives your Arcane Barrage, Fireball, Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt spells a 3/6/9/12/15% chance to reduce the channeled duration of the next Arcane Missiles spell to 1.5 secs and fire missiles every .3 sec. (talent locations)

There's another change :

Arcane Impact used to increase crit from Arcane Explosion and Arcane Blast, but has been replace by Spell Impact, which also increases crit from Fire Blast, Blast Wave, Ice Lance and Cone of Cold.

Too bad they removed Potent Spirit, it was a nice idea to link Spirit and crit chance

So now, as an arcane mage, you can get a talent that increases by 30% your crit if you are clearcasting...but you dont need clearcasting to get it.
Expect a rollback soon, this would be the only ingame talent that is not linked to the skill it make it works. Either that or they will add an extra effect to it so it does something if you dont take clearcasting

I'm pretty sure you still need to put some points in Arcane Concentration so that you can get a clearcast but not the full 5 points as it is now.

It's sooooooo very nice to see Ret getting some love. The other classes too, but they don't affect me as much as changes to Paladins. I'm so very excited for this stuff to get finalized and released -- so far, I haven't seen a whole lot of "bad" or even "somewhat mediocre" effort go in to Paladins.

Holy is getting the buffs that are really needed, Prot is getting some nice enhancement, and Retribution is getting completely reworked in to what it should have been for a LONG ASS TIME now. It's good to see the developers do their jobs and make things right. I've never been one of those "Blizzard doesn't listen to it's customers" people; but it has been hard in the past not to at least think it for a split second or maybe even two seconds. This shows all those people are wrong.

If you take a look at all the new powerfull AE heals given to Druids, Paladins and Priest you will noticed they were toned down considerably as well....take a look.

I don't think Incanter's Absorption, located in the second-to-last tier of the arcane tree, is powerful or useful enough.

While I agree that Ret is getting some much deserved love, I really don't think they did well with Holy/Prot. I see talents that reduce mana usage, reduces cast time etc.. but nothing exciting. The 51pt in prot just didn't make me go "Oh wow" like other classes. Hell, I'm unsure about the 51pt in holy.

Speaking of Holy, I hope they give us some new healing spells that are fun. I expected a major overhaul of the spec, but so far it seems mediocre.

tbh i dont think i have ever seen so much love for ret palas...EVER!
finally we are getting some REAL raid utility no more will people say "retlol" every time i mention i'm dps, no more drama on trade...i actually think we are heading in a good direction

Having the opportunity to use fire ward or frost ward are fairly rare, and as any mage knows using mana shield is incredibly mana inefficient and absorbs so little damage that it's almost never used. This talent would be alright if used with ice barrier, but alas ice barrier is too deep in the frost tree to get both talents. I would definitely not take Incanter's Absorbtion when talenting my mage.

Also, I wonder if Winter's Grasp [2/2] (Gives your frost damage spells a 10% chance to apply the Winter's Grasp effect, which increases the chance all targets will hit the target by 2% and the target is considered frozen for 5 sec) will apply to Boss targets, ie. be useful for raiding.

Would be interesting to see how juiced up a mage could get with this talent and a paladin's bubble assuming Blizz was lazy again and made it proc on any absorbed damage. Eating heroic MgT Kael's Pyroblast would land a nice 6000+ damage for 10 seconds.

They better be working on fire. I understand trying to not make it the PvE focus this time around, but it needs help.

I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of the talent.

Just think of it in a way how Warlocks work atm.

Improved Shadowbolt leaves a debuff on the target that increases the damage done by all warlocks/shadowpriests, boosting their dps by quite a bit.
Stacking locks is therefor happening alot now, because the more, the better the chance of having the debuff up all the time, the better your overal raid dps becomes.

So think of having 3-4 mages in a raid in Wrath, you will have WG up alot, making the mages crit rise to about 80-90% all the time.
