I voted troll. Troll warriors are awesome looking in those plate tiers, and I bet they would look even better in wotlk armors.
but I won't switch to DK over my priest

I didn't even think about those... It seems like we might be one of 10 dwarf DKs on our whole server lol

Let's see racial skills, and you'll know which race to choose.
Backgrounds is useless if you want to make the best DK.

I'm a little inclined to go human but gnome is just too cute to pass up. The human thing will only be cool when grinding rep, which I will to get him a netherdrake asap.

Why would you even consider a Blood Elf as a DK, vanity or ? Mana based racials seem irrelevant for a Rune based class.

Okay, lets see;
Arthas = Human... so obviously humans would win on a fanboy stasis, but down to racials, Humans simply are not winners. What about a HP Boost from the Tauren, the cheap pvp styled racial of the Undead? Dodge from Night Elves for you Blood specs, or the Silencing/mana theft of a blood elf (i know the mana is useless, but the effect that atm seems to stack, is good for a quick silence). Then Draenei fit in basically anywhere, Orcs have their increased AP, Trolls have Haste, both being good choices for blood spec (Trolls also dealing more damage to beasts, which would be useful in levelling in some zones). Dwarves are the sneaky anti-death knight characters, their stoneform will blast those diseases away.

As an alliance player, i'm yet to see the overall use... of Humans and Gnomes as Death Knights... Stealth Detection (doubt rogues and druids should be too much trouble, depending on your spec) and Escape Artist wont really matter in a PvP Sense as you'd already have your trinket... but there could be another reason i'm yet to see it useful for (I haven't played either in an Engame state, so i'm open to being corrected on this).

Belf rogues receive energy from arcane torrent, I imagine deathknights will receive runic power.

the reason for picking a gnome for pvp is the same as the reason people choose the 2 min CD pvp trinket. We want more ways to get out of snares and such. Ever noticed what the best ranked warriors are?

All these people must be making DPS DKs haha. I don't see why any Horde would make a tank DK that wasn't Tauren. That 5% health racial is going to be so OP for tanking when we all have mass HP at 80.

All the people who chose Human are just not creative. XD

GNOME DKS UNITE! o/

I think people are forgetting that humans get +5 expertise with swords and maces as well as Diplomacy. Given that the DK can use both, I think this gives humans very nice racials for a DK.

I think the race of a death knight is a much more important decision than the other classes, as it won't affect your starting area. The only thing it will affect will be racials (and looks), so it makes it a much more important consideration.

Not totally, all races have a different set of beginning stats also for each individual class, thus those beginning stats will also affect the way you begin to level (which at that level, shouldn't be hard). They will then in-turn affect End Game stats from higher level gear. Believe it or not, there are some people in the game who pick their character based around that theory.

the beginning stats aren't a break all deal, it matters more in the lower levels.

Everything but gnomes? Out of the 30 teams in the top 10 across the 3 different brackets, there's 1 gnome warrior.

Admittedly, this is a concern at lower levels. But at level 55, which is where you'll start a death knight, it has almost no impact on the game. The racial abilities are far more powerful than a couple of points of sta, str, agi, int or spi.
