Blizzard has given us quite a few beta keys for
The first giveaway will be for 10 beta keys, and will take place tomorrow -- July 27th, 2010 -- and will run from 9AM PDT until 2PM PDT. Every 30 minutes on Twitter, @cursenetwork will mention a piece of lore in the Warcraft universe, and it's up to you to figure out who or what it's about. The first person to guess properly by replying to the Tweet with the answer in this format: "@cursenetwork <answer> #WoRCataclysm" will receive a code that is redeemed on Battle.net. The winner will be contacted via direct message (I'll follow you so I can) to get an email address where the code can be sent.
So be sure to follow @cursenetwork on Twitter and stay tuned tomorrow morning for your chance to participate! The event starts at 9AM PDT (12PM EST, 4PM GMT, 5PM CET)! And don't forget, the way to submit your answer is "@cursenetwork <answer> #WoRCataclysm".
Also important to note is these beta keys work for any region, so both North American and European region players can participate!
Using Twitter
To set up your account, visit this page. It's a fairly quick and easy process. Once it's created, you can post to your Twitter page by visiting http://twitter.com/ and typing something into the "What's happening?" box.
Tips and Info
- Be concise with your messages, especially when mentioning a user or including a link. You only have 140 characters that you can use in it.
- @ - This is used to direct a message to another Twitter user, or mention them in your "Tweet". You would type @username <message>... so for example typing @cursenetwork Hi! would cause me to see "@cursenetwork Hi!"
- # - This is called a hash tag. You can include this in your message and it will cause the message to be easily findable when searching for the topic of the hash tag. So for example, if you search Twitter for #WoRCataclysm, any "Tweets" with the hash tag in it will show up in search results. This is especially handy if you're looking for Cataclysm info on Twitter. You can simply search for #Cataclysm and you'll find a lot of stuff.
- Bit.ly - One of many URL shorteners, very popular for shortening URLs to post on Twitter. For example, http://www.worldofra...-event-updated/ becomes http://bit.ly/aSMwnT, which saves a ton of characters for your actual message.
