An old fellow guild member of mine when I played on US/Oceanic realms and I had a discussion about WOW and Starcraft 2. I myself never played Starcraft but he was and still is. Our discussion is, How many current WOW players do you think will jump ship when Starcraft 2 is realeased? There are roughly eleven million players in WOW right now. In my opinion I could seriously see that amount halved when Starcraft 2 is released. I will stick with WOW because I just love the gameplay. But I think that Blizzard will have to really come up with amazing improvements to keep those players that are riding the fence or the world will be a pretty empty place. What do you think?

The games are very different in genre, for starters starcraft isn't an mmo and it's not fantasy based. There are many people into fantasy style games (Just look at The Elder Scrolls) and the lore surrounding them. I can't see even 1 million people leaving WoW to play Starcraft 2, they may play both though.

I plan to play both, as I'm sure many others do.
Starcraft is something I can play on my own free time after work, or in the middle of the day on weekends. WoW gives me a nice, structured social activity that I can't see Starcraft replacing.

I will play both. As said, they varies to much from each other, and are so different in their design, so I don't think SC2 won't compete that much with WoW subscribers.
Diablo 3 is a completely different story though. If it don't turn out as a complete disaster, I will jump ship when it releases. I've always found the Diablo world to be much more interesting than the Warcraft universe.
