Shadowmourne Discovered

Shadowmourne has been discovered on the 3.3 PTR! Apparently certain devs (or maybe GMs) had it equipped during the encounter testing. Also don't forget to check out the Shadowmourne preview. Thanks to Might for tipping me off on this. Click through on the image for a shot of the model too.

And casters get a legendary when? Oh, right, we got that one that lasted about a week before TBC's release reset the gear and we replaced it with a Hellfire Pen green quest reward. Now we sit out the next twenty legendaries for melee and healers.

And is my math off or is that going to be 651 strength with 9 stacks of the proc? Holy jesus. Melee dps just went from ahead of caster dps to lol casters why bring them.

Casters have been promised the first legendary of Cataclysm
And it will be coming in the first tier of content.

Thank god. Here's hoping it doesn't get outscaled for at LEAST one full tier. (As in usable in the tier releasing after the tier with the legendary, since it generally takes one full tier cycle at the least for anyone in a non-world-first guild to finish building a legendary.) Even if I doubt I'll be able to get one, at least casters will have had a legendary then. Here's hoping it's not useful to healers, either. If healers can use the "caster" legendary, they'll have dibs in most guilds because buffing one of 6 healers is more important than buffing one of 16 dps for the most part.

The top of the handle(above the blade) is indeed based off the horns on Frostmourne.

Am I the only one who thinks this weapons stats are too much over the top and therefor probably gonna get tuned down or are fake to begin with???

I'm gonna be realistic and wont believe that 1 item is gonna grant someone a base of 291 strength and then a procc of another 360 strength...... Its just too good to be true

Stats are really nice what a legendary should be tbh, I hope though with them stats it is pretty hard to get.

Doesn't the stats feel way to OP, even for a legendary item? :S Top dmg feels very high, and it have not only a proc, it have 200+ str together with 3 red sockets, also add the ArP and crit...yummie!
But I will never get my hands on it.

My guess is that they're being a bit more generous than normal with it since it's the last instance of the expansion. They know that once Cataclysm rolls around it's going to be gimped by anything added in those raids.
