Guild Recruitment Updates

We recently pushed some more updates live for the guild recruitment tool, including a new "Latest Updated Guilds" module on the home page (its location is likely temporary, and Latest Blue Posts will return to the top soon). We have a few more things we're working on before we consider the tool officially released, and they are:

• Increase the number of members in a guild that must have the achievement before giving credit for progress.
  
• Increase the time guilds have before they need to refresh their page from 7 days to 14.
  
• Add a new checkbox to the time filter that allows you to only see guilds that raid at the times you can.
  
• Add visual indication if guild's raid times perfectly match yours.
  
• Add unique progress bar colors for 10 and 25 in the progression section.
  
• Allow guilds to say whether they're a 10-player or 25-player guild and add appropriate filters / progression tracking.
  
• Improve the distinction between certain class roles, such as feral druids and death knights. (feral can be recruited for two things, death knights are rarely recruited based on spec, but role instead)

Once those are done we'll begin working on new features. What those new features are will have to wait, since I don't want to make any promises until we've fleshed them out and are happy with them.

Patch 3.3 - New 24 Slot Bag

chao is a blood hound when it comes to PTR information, and he's uncovered more. If you've been looking for something to spend your gold on, wait no longer! As of patch 3.3, Haris Pilton will sell a new 24 slot bag called Portable Hole for 3000 gold. Your sack isn't quite so Gigantique anymore!

Nice, I know where 12k will probably be getting dumped the day 3.3 releases for me now. Guess I should start doing Crusader dailies again and beef up my gold some more for the time being.

And VERY looking forward to some of the raid time issues getting fixed up and ready in the guild recruitment tool. It's going to be slick!

Edit just to add: That video is excellent. We don't have any fail feral druids but if I ever run across one I know where to point them other than EJ like I do everyone. ROFL @ the screenshot at the end dated 073109 that shows Coldbear was tanking without Savage Defense until then (when it was added on 041409).

Hey thanks for the exposure, Kody! Love what you've done with WoR, too.

I messed up a few things, though.

The plug for Flyv's blog should probably have been for Fluid Druid instead, since Flyv no longer plays WoW.

The Berserk macro I gave might be better off if you have one macro to alert the Blood DK, and then another to activate Berserk AFTER you get Hysteria.

Lots of people are all upset that I'd recommend Imp Mangle, but so do:
Murna of Cat DPS for Dummies
Nightcrowler of FeralByNight
Astrylian of Rawr

...and the issue is really that you can't rely on always being behind an add or the boss. Your specific hard mode progression fight/raid comp may vary though, and this isn't really intended for the best of the best out there who are on bleeding-edge content, just a general guide since no-one had made one yet.

is sitting at about 5000th in the world on progress, so no doubt there's about 5000+ harder-hitting ferals out there.

Can't help it, but I relate "Portable Hole" to some kind of a toy that men with a P can buy and use, lol.

It's quite clear that they used the naming as a reference to the old D&D thing and the other alternative meaning
