Patch 3.3 PTR Testing - Valithria Dreamwalker

Below are the details from the testing of Valithria Dreamwalker on the 3.3 PTR. Join us on IRC if you want to discuss the encounter, or have any information you'd like to share.

Valithria Dreamwalker

 Health: 30m (25) / 10m (10)  Other: ??
Valithria starts at 50% health and the objective is for players to heal her to full. This is accomplished through player heal spells. While you do this adds spawn and rush you to try and stop you from healing her / damage her. The adds spawn progressively faster as the fight goes on, so it's important to have a good mix of DPS to keep the adds down, as well as healers to heal Valithria.
 
Please note that the abilities listed under Valithria aren't necessarily cast by her. They simply don't have an NPC they're associated with and occur during the encounter.

Column of Frost
Marks the location under a random player target. After 2 seconds a column of frost errupts from this location, dealing 14138 to 15862 Frost damage to all enemies within 3 yards, knocking them into the air.

Dream Slip
Valithria uses this to leave Icecrown after you save her.

Dreamwalker's Rage
Deals 10000000 Nature damage in a 50000 yard radius. Valithria casts this once you've healed her to full. Does not deal damage to players. This means you won! Pat your healers on the back.

Emerald Vigor
Regenerating 200 mana every 3 sec, and increases damage and healing by 10% per application for 30 sec. Stacks up to 20 times. This is cast in a 10 yard radius when a Dream Cloud is killed in Valithria's dream state.

Summon Nightmare Portal
This allows players to port to a dream state where Dream Clouds are spawned.
Blazing Skeleton

Fireball
Inflicts 4713 to 5287 Fire damage to an enemy.

Lay Waste
Surrounds the caster in flames for 12 sec, pulsing 5655 to 6345 Fire damage to all enemies every 2 sec.
Blistering Zombie
Posted Image
Acid Burst
The caster explodes, dealing 14138 to 15862 Nature damage instantly and 1000 Nature damage per second to all enemies within 15 yards. Lasts 20 sec.

Corrosion
Whenever the caster lands a melee swing, the target takes 2500 Nature damage every 3 seconds and their armor is reduced by 10%. This effect can stack up to 5 times. Lasts 6 sec.
Gluttonous Abomination
Gut Spray
Deals 3000 Nature damage per second and increases Physical damage taken by 25% for 12 sec.
Risen Archmage
Corruption
The Risen Archmages cast this on Valithria. This is likely for visual flavor at the beginning of the encounter.
Frostbolt Volley
Inflicts 3770 to 4230 Frost damage to nearby enemies, reducing their movement speed by 50% for 8 sec.
Mana Void
Summons a Mana Void at a random enemies location. This Mana Void burns 1000 mana per second to all enemies within a 6 radius. Lasts 30 seconds.
Rot Worm
These spawn from Gluttonous Abominations when they die. They have no abilities, but hit for around 4-5k damage each.
Suppresser
Suppression
Reduces healing received by the target by 10%. Lasts until cancelled. This is cast on Valithria by suppressers. 6 spawn per wave of adds.

Achievements


Below are the achievements Valithria Dreamwalker is directly involved in so far. Healbot is, as usual, a placeholder at the moment.

Heal Valithria Dreamwalker in under 31 minutes in 10-player mode.
The Frostwing Halls
Defeat the bosses of The Frostwing Halls in Icecrown Citadel in 10-player mode.

It's a placeholder, like pretty much every achievement on PTRs.
And it's a play on GC saying that there would be 31 bosses in ICC.

Original fight to say the least.

Yeah as Nevermindz says (and the news does), it's a placeholder. I'm guessing, based on the encounter, that it'll be something like 5-6 minutes for the achievement, if that's the way the achievement will actually work.

I hope not though, since "do this in x amount of time" is almost as gimmicky as the immortal achievements.

Agreed. The problem with timed achievements is they heavily favor stacking the raid. In this case, squeezing every last dps out of as few people as possible to fit in two or three extra healers will cheese the achievement. Except for the 2-3 dps who have to sit for those healers and don't get the achievement that week. Huzzah!

Just as the healers that are currently benched for kill boss x in x amount of time achievements?
