Don't you guys think everyone, including the original poster of this article, is jumping to huge conclusions? The word "Malestrom" could be used for other things....like maybe just the name of a test server. Remember that list of hidden servers that was found? They use all kinds of names.

Yeah i definitely dont think that screenshot or name of that "test server" has anything to do with the upcoming xpac. I'm pretty sure pretty much everyone here is in agreement that it was more than likely the hardware test for the upgrade to the US-Maelstrom realm. (which it surely needs)

Any posts i've made have stemmed more from my own predictions than anything else.

In regards to that "fluff" employee article, I have never seen a more fake or disappointing article. It's fake in the stance that the Arch-Druid would even be considered for a hero class. Seriously, that goes beyond taking another class's role, and into replacing an entire class altogether. I don't need to go into details about how bad of an idea that would be. I'm thinking 1% druid population after about two months of the expansion and 0% growth of the druid class, since everyone would just make an arch druid or make a new one that would be better.

Second, blademaster? Come on, this is just stretching it. Practically a fury warrior, there is little here that can be fresh or new.

If those details were new or in the works, which we know they aren't, that is one pretty disappointing expansion. I mean, the Azshara part is cool. But really nothing of interest added to the game. At least on the scale of WotLK or BC.

Yep. This is after all a speculation thread.

It is pretty unlikely that they would need to test hardware like that.

That's kind of the point of this article, is to speculate on what the next expansion is going to be. It even says as much before I break into the article itself. :)

It's nice to see so much discussion on it -- it's certainly a topic a lot of players are interested in.

well, the sort of "combo" system of the blademaster sounds like an interesting idea. to me, it sounds kind of like maxi, from soul calibur. only during certain parts of his basic "rotation" could you do certain moves. some of these would switch you into difference stances that could go into another move. the same was sort of true with a few other characters, switch stances to create sort of custom combos.

if this were done in a very fluid manner, rather than every second pressing another "heroic strike" or "sinister strike" would be pretty interesting.

exactly my point

tbh, i wouldnt mind if all our classes got names/abilities upgraded or something like that, something like we thought in the WOTLK miniclip, our chars in exchange for DKs :P

like stassis said on page 4:

Mage -> archmage or conjurer
Druid -> keeper of the grove or archdruid
Warlock -> summoner or necromancer
Warrior -> berserker or Mountain king (A)/chieftain (H)
Shaman -> farseer or stormcaller
Priest -> High Priest or Shadowmage (A)/Witchdoctor (H)
Paladin -> Holyknight or Retributor (yeah kinda reaching here)
Hunter -> Beastmaster (think rexxar) or Marksman
Rogue -> Shadow master or Warden (A)/Assassin (H)
There's a light at the end of every tunnel...just pray it's not a train. :)

I think prestige classes like that were the original idea Blizzard had for adding hero classes.

I personally believe (and hope!) that the expansion list is accurate. It would also make sense, seeing as on another website (can't remember which) it said that the fifth expansion would take you to these new areas via the old portals that you destroy in WC3. If you look around in some areas of Outland, you can find these portals (they can be found in Zangarmarsh, Blade's Edge Mountains and Nagrand). This would also fit, as the expansion plan for expansion no. 5 mentions 3 worlds (K'aresh, Argus and wherever Burning Citadel is)

and also, there has actually been Emerald Dream maps in the WoW files all along, which have changed slightly since 3.1

plus, the whole thing with the Emerald Nightmare has yet to be concluded, which will very likely be in a future WoW expansion as Blizzard aren't making Warcraft anymore
