Design A World of Raids Logo Contest

World of Raids needs a new logo; something that truly conveys what the website stands for. While everyone is familiar with the WoR acronym if you visit the site, a passerby may not be, and we want our logo to be a symbol recognizable by everyone. What's even better is we were able to purchase an extra BlizzCon ticket on May 30th, and we're giving it away in this contest to the winner!

So this is your chance to not only contribute to the World of Raids community, but also win a BlizzCon ticket for your creation! Read below to find out how to enter. Please note this is only a ticket to enter BlizzCon; we're unfortunately not able to provide air fare or hotel accomodations.

How To Enter

Between June 13th, 2009 and June 27th, 2009 you'll be able to send in your entry for the contest. There are no limits to the number of entries you submit. The logo must be able to resize to 200 pixels in width, and 100 pixels in height. The logo should use a similar color palette to what the World of Raids website currently uses, with a transparent background. Please save the file in PSD format to retain its layers.

• Attach the entry to the email and send

Prizes

• Grand Prize: BlizzCon ticket and your logo design used on the World of Raids website, as well as a Curse.com t-shirt (and another we're not ready to talk about yet) when we meet you at BlizzCon!

Eligibility

Curse, Inc. employees are not eligible to enter the contest. This contest will be judged on logo quality above all else, and whether it fits within the vision of the World of Raids website. BlizzCon ticket as "prize" is being rewarded as compensation for contributing to the World of Raids website by creating its logo.

Just started working on it. After 5 minutes of getting into Photoshop after a LONG time I realized this is gunna suck without a tablet >.<

Oh well, I'll have to work on it my spare time, I really like this contest.

Mostly for the website constraints. I edited the news to clarify that it needs to be able to resize to those dimensions.

as in if you are going to keep the new look used right now, would you want a logo that fits with all this black, orange, and grey?

Yeah, similar color palette to now.

Gift, sure. I'd rather it not be sold though. Keep in mind that since it's past the date to place names on tickets, we'll be handing the pass over at BlizzCon.

No limit. If you want to submit variations of a logo, I'm totally fine with that. Will add that to the news.

Wouldnt you want the logo designed in Illustrator as a vector? .

I suppose if you use Smart Objects in PS, it would be close to vector.

eh...illustrator is almost always better for logo design imo.
