Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings

Update: It was removed from the armory shortly after the news post went up, so it looks like someone at Blizzard screwed up.

The wait is over!  Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings is now on the Armory.  Stats below.

Yeah seems like most of the bump up to "legendary" is the effect. Hopefully it really will be good for all healers.

Very dissappointed myself.

The proc better happen alot (Thunderfury alot) or it's not gonna be enough to people to "really" want and do everything they can do to get it.

Even though very nice it doesn't feel like legendary stats.

However, you can't compare this to TF , TF is with Hammer of Ragnaros the REAL legendary which did require Tremendous work and mats. Nowadays Legendaries are kind of a ++ epic. That mace is easy to get and most hardcore guild will get it for all their healer.
Why Not ? ^^

Compared to this mace http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45147 that you can get from Razorscale, the stats does feel kind of low. Allthough the proc is ofc great, I guess it is 15% more effective healing but in the form of absorbed dmg, wich is ofc better.

It's the lack of mana regen that gets me.

Yep, praying for your bindings/eye on a kill was really hard work and didn't at all involve a dice roll.

looks like blizzard have removed it already, armory is claiming it doesn't exist. (Well at least its not serving up the data, which usually means the same)

I would easily imagine that this buff would be near constant.

Which would effectively mean a +15% increase to heal in the form of absorbtion.

Which is extremely good, and largely justifies the legendary status.

Of course it might just proc once every 2 hours, in which case it would suck, but i don't understand why people are already crying about it when we don't even know how often it will proc.

Well, couldn't they do just what they did with Aistesh? Those are the base stats but depending on the class + spirit is added for preists/druids and + crit for palys and +manaregen for shammies? Make the stats that matter most to that class show up when they equip it.

indeed, there's a guild on my server who after killing Deconstructor have 3 Fragments (4 bosses 3 fragments) so its not as hard as it seems, just luck (Equally I know guilds who never had a Warglaive despite near a year of ilidan kills and I know guilds who got 5 glaives in there first 5 kills)

RNG ftw!

You guys are missing a key thing about this mace. the proc says "of the amount healed" so when you say it will always be a 15% boost to you heal when it procs it really wont be. if you overheal 99% of a heal and it procs the shield is going to be very small.

so imo this mace is a pretty shitty legendary.

kinda nice to have a legendary that wields a procc half as effective as a divine aegis crit... i mean i understand they want sumthing unique, but they should have done better.

By the way, we figured out the effect in IRC -- it's nothing like the trinket from Viscidus.

It places a buff on the target for 15 seconds that causes your heals on them to also absorb 15% of their value while that buff lasts.

So it should be pretty good for HoTs too, assuming the absorb effect can stack.
