Ulduar Hall of Fame

The Ulduar Hall of Fame isn't quite ready yet, but I wanted to publish the list of what will be tracked.  While many of these will be tracked automatically based on guild-earned achievements, if you'd like to share more information on your kills, please do so in the Raids & Dungeons forum.

How this list will differ from the "Speed Run Hall of Fame" is that each will be a static top-10 list, listing the first 10 guilds in the world to complete each achievement / defeat each encounter under the specific requirements.  If you want to suggest more achievements be tracked, let me know.

Site Update - Guide Section

The Guides tab should now link to the new guide section.  The old guides should begin appearing today as I get them formatted and ensure all of the data integrity is intact after today's website issues.  One of the major changes with this new section is a new guide navigation, which you can access in a dropdown format at the top, rather than the clunky Ajax navigation the old system used.

Patch Day Advice and Rituals

A fairly useful thread by Nethaera on the official forums for patch day!

Quote from: Nethaera (Source)

Everyone has certain things they do on a patch day to get them ready for the changes and new content they'll get to experience. Some people wear a lucky pair of socks, or stock up on their favorite drinks and foods. What sort of things do you do and what advice do you have for other players?

Some things to remember:

  • Respec your talents and visit a trainer to learn any new spells.
    • Don't forget that you can turn on the preview option as a part of a new additions to the interface. You can place your points before actually spending them.
    • If you're dual speccing, be sure to make sure you match up your spec to your primary glyphs first unless you are changing them all out completely. You will not be able to copy or move glyphs over to your secondary spec.
    • Don't forget to get any Glyphs that you might need for your secondary spec if you are dual speccing. You will no longer need to visit a Lexicon of Power in order to apply them, however.

  • Activate any additional interface options you'd like to use. We released a User Interface update a little while ago and there are some new features that you may want to take advantage of such as the additional Objectives tracking. (Equipment Manager as noted in the above stickies will not be released with this patch.) - http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/ui.html
  • Be sure to take a listen to the great new music in the Argent Tournament and Ulduar!

Yay! First new raid dungeon since Sunwell (25 March 2008, over a YEAR)!!!! (EoE and OS are single encounter dungeons so I do not count them). :)

To bad they could not have it ready when LK launched already.

Ah well...guess we get tuned (and working) bosses at least. :)

would this be possible,

We have all these servers that are live, so would it be possible for Blizzard to make a ptr that is just like a normal realm, except just have it closed when there is no testing going on. Wouldn't something like this make it easier to roll out patch's and test? you basically have a realm that is strictly testing and would have the exact same structure as a normal realm, all content working. Developers would be able to patch this realm with ptr builds, get them working on this said realm, know that it works with all the kinks fixed here on this realm, and just roll them out to the actual realms?

So in short a working realm that is active all the time to developers, but not the public, one that is tied into the infrastructure as realm Aegwynn through Zuluhed are. If it works on the developers realm it should work on the actual live realms.

Just wondering, I have no clue how this works, I just know when I played Everquest the test realm was up all the time, people actually leveled and had guilds on these servers. when patches rolled out it went pretty smooth as I can recall.

It's hard to say because we don't know how the PTR realms might be different from the live ones. Maybe there's some infrastructural difference that works for a testing realm but necessitates making PTRs a totally separate thing. I don't know, but I basically agree with slayme, if it really were that simple it seems like they'd do it that way rather than the way it's done now.

the adds to the left and right when you enter the room are the adds for the fight, you do not need to pull them. once you aggro xt-002 the adds will come at 75% 50% and 25% and are killable

When the heart phase begins they add in addition to the heart phase adds. Unless you're telling me your guild killed him -- which if so congrats -- and it looks like a lot of guilds are missing something.

Rapidshare mirror of the patch:

http://rapidshare.com/users/L0Y0HQ

Those who already have the preloader part only need to download the "finalPart" package, which is ~30 Mb.

Have a nice day!

(EDIT: Hope that posting this mirror doesnt break any site policy... If so, please kindly excuse me and feel free to remove my link!)

You pretty much have to get lucky with where the bots spawn. If they spawn too closely they'll aggro the trash.

That said, a hotfix should be coming soon for the trash. Hopefully.

Situational Awareness on Sargeras also killed Razorscale with the achievement before Vodka. It's bugged and the boss isnt hard. Kinda stupid Vodka gets front page credit for something bugged and easy when they didnt even do it first.

Yep, we killed Razorscale at 8:19 pm PT with "A Quick Shave" achievement. Please add us to the list. You can look up Googol or fallen on armory for verification.
