Realm Maintenance Update

We wanted to inform our players regarding today’s extended maintenance. We experienced an error that resulted in players being unable to retrieve in-game mail from the last 15 days. Once the error was discovered, we brought down the realms immediately and began working to address this problem, and have been doing so for the duration of the day. Our decision was to enable players to continue playing World of Warcraft before the opening of Wrath of the Lich King. Work would continue on addressing issues with the in-game mail while the realms were up. This is the plan that is currently in motion.

The process from this point forward will be twofold:

1. All items that were in a mail will be sent to characters in one or more messages depending on the amount of items the character had in the mail system.
2. Gold from auction house sales or sent through mail will be sent in a separate mail.

We are working to resolve this issue, and we will keep our players informed throughout this process. In the meantime, please do not create an in-game ticket or contact phone support for this issue – multiple mails will be sent returning your items and gold automatically. We greatly appreciate your patience during this time.

I confirmed that the Wrath of the Lich King content will be made available at midnight east coast time.

I also feel it's unfair that east coasters get to watch The Daily Show every night before I do, but apparently psychics and astronomy are not on my side.

Site Watch - manaview.com

There's a fairly neat site that was posted today on our forums.  It's called Manaview, and from its creator, it's a "GPS Leveling Website".  From the developer:

The site works by tracking the leveling routes of everyone who downloads and installs our addon. Exactly the same way wowhead or thottbot gathers their data. It runs behind the scenes and you never know its there. It won't bother your game play at all.

It then takes the data and creates a step-by-step leveling guide! This is partnered with an interactive map that shows you the exact location you need to complete each step.

Other people can search the site for a level range they want a route for and filter it by class, faction, and server type. And you will get a list of the fastest routes ever recorded. Choose the one you like and start following it!

It's a bit hard to explain and you can understand how it works better by visiting the site and testing it out yourself from 1-5, there's only 1 test route up there right now since the site was JUST launched but hopefully with your help there will be more routes soon.

And on top of that, they're holding a contest with Wrath of the Lich King's launch, rewarding the top 3 fastes levelers (based on /played time, not time since launch day) with cash, and the 4th fastest with paid game time!  You can find out more details on their contest page.
