2008 Summer Olympics Event - Tabard and Tiny Dragon pet
To support the 2008 Summer Olympics Games, Blizzard launched a new event "the Spirits of Competition" (running from the 8th to the 25th August) in which you can win the 2 following items: Olympic Tabard and Dragon Pet. How do you get them?

- Olympic Tabard: You just have to finish any battleground (you must stay for the full duration of the battleground), win or loss does not matter. You will then get a mail with the tabard.
- Dragon Pet: Obtained from winning a battleground. Everytime you win a battleground, you have a chance this pet is mailed to you. (Tip: Running Warsong Gluch with a team is probably the fastest way to get a Gold Medal).
- Souvenir: There is a NPC for "the Spirits of Competition" event that has an option to enter a code, no details on it yet.
Wrath talent calculator update - Upcoming Class Changes
Blizzard updated the Wrath talent calculator, they also posted a list of changes for Death Knight/Mage/Shaman/Warlock, below is a more comprehensive list, every other changes are mentioned in the official patch notes.

Frost
- Butchery 2nd level stats changed: Whenever you kill an enemy that grants experience or honor, you generate up to 10/20 runic power. In addition, you generate 1 runic power (was 1/2 runic power) per 3 sec. while in combat.
- Abomination Strenght description updated: Your Blood Strikes and Heart Strike have a 25/50% chance and your Obliterate have a 50%100% chance to increase the total Strenght of raid members within 20 yards by 10% for 10 sec.
- Vampiric Blood changed to a 1pt talent, stats/description changed too: Increases the amount of health generated through spells and effects by 50% for 20 sec. (1 blood, instant cast, 2 min cd)
- Sudden Doom description changed: Heart Strikes are now affecting this talent. (was in our previous update)
Unholy
- New tier 6 talent - Improved Icy Talons: Your Icy talons effect increases the melee, ranged and casting speed of the entire raid by 15% for the next 20 sec.
- Chilblains description changed. New: Victims of your Frost Fever disease are Chilled reducing Movement speed by 10/20/30% for 6 sec.
- Frost Aura stats/description changed. New: Increases your Frost Resistance by 32. While in Frost Presence, all party members within 45 yards take 2/4% less damage from magic.
- Unbreakable Armor changed to 1 level + stats changed. Increases your armor by 25% and your total strength by 5% for 20 sec. (1 Frost, instant, 2min cd)
- Virulence description updated: Increases your chance to hit with your spells by 1/2/3% and reduces the chance that your spells and diseases you cause can be cured by 10/20/30%.
- Dirge changed to 2 levels + updated description. Your Plague Strike, Scourge Strike and Death Strike generate 25/75% additional runic power.
- Bone Armor renamed to Bone Shield and place swapped with Morbidity.
- Unholy Rune Mastery changed. When you cause damage to a diseased victim, there is a 10% chance that the time it takes for your Unholy Runes to activate will be cut in half for the next 5 sec.
- Blood Caked Blade - Down to 3 levels, stats/description changed: Your melee attacks and abilities have a 5/10/15% chance to apply 50% of their damage to the damage done by an existing Blood Plague on the target. This ability cannot occur more than once per 10 sec.
- Crypt fever - Changed to 3 levels, stats changed: Your diseases also cause Crypt Fever, which increases the damage of other diseases on the target by 20/40/60%.
- Ebon Plaguebringer - Updated stats/description. Your Crypt Fever morphs into Ebon Plague, which increases vulnerability to magic by 4/9/13% in addition to increase the damage done by diseases.
- Rage of Rivendare - Updated description: Your spells and abilities deal 2/4/6/8/10% more damage to targets infected with Blood Plague.
Mage
Arcane
Fire
- Arcane Shielding stats changed. It decreases the mana lost per point of damage taken when Mana Shield is active by 17/33% (was 10/20%) and increases the resistance granted by Mage Armor by 50%.
- New tier 4 talent - Torment of the Weak: All damage done to slowed targets is increased by 1/2/3%.
- Spell Power moved from tier 7 to tier 10.
- Incanter's Absorption moved from tier 9 to tier 7.
- Missile Barrage moved from tier 10 to tier 9.
- Netherwind Presence moved from tier 9 to tier 10.
Frost
- Impact changed to 3 levels from 5, stats has been updated too. Gives your damaging spells a 4/7/10% (was 2/4/6/8/10%) chance to stun the target for 2 sec.
- Molten Shields description has been updated. New: Causes your Fire Ward and Frost spells to have a 15/30% chance to reflect the warded spell while active. In addition, your Molten Armor has a 50% chance to affect ranged and spell attacks.
Blastwave rank 9 mana cost changed from 930 too 620 (it's probably a typo since rank 7 = 620 and rank 8 = 795).
Burnout updated stats. New: Increases your spell critical damage bonus with all Fire spells by 10/20/30/40/50% (was 5/10/15/20/25%) but your spell criticals cost an additional 1/2/3/4/5% of the spell's cost.- Living Bomb rank 3 mana cost changed from 1010 to 980 + updated stats/description. New: The target becomes a Living Bomb, taking 1380 Fire damage over 12 sec. After 12 sec or when the spell is dispelled, the target explodes dealing 759 Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards and knocking all targets up in the air. This spell can only affect one target at a time. (old version: The caster become a living bomb, causing 130 Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards every 2 sec. After 6 sec, a fiery explosion occurs causing 520 Fire damage to all enemies within 10 yards and burning 260 mana, dealing damage equal to the amount drained)
- Frost Warding stats/description updated. New: Increases the armor and resistances given by your Frost Armor and Ice Armor spells by 25/50% (was 15/30%). In addition, gives your Frost Ward and Fire Ward a 15/30% (was 10/20%) chance to negate the warded damage spell and restore mana equal to the damage caused.
- Improved Water Elemental stats/description updated. New: Increases the duration of your Summon Water Elemental spell by 5/10/15 sec and your Water Elemental restores mana to all party or raid members an amount equal to 1/2/3% of their total mana every 5 sec. (old version: your Water Elemental heals all party or raid members 1/2/3% of their total health every 5 sec)

Enhancement
- Concussion - Updated description: Increases the damage done by your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Thunderstorm, Lavaburst and Shock spells by 1/2/3/4/5%. (thunderstorm and lava burst were removed in our previous update)
Restoration
- Improved Shields - Updated stats: Increases the damage done by your Lightning Shield orbs by 5/10/15%, increases the amount of mana gained from your Water Shield orbs by 5/10/15% and increases the amount of healing done by your Earth Shield orbs by 5/10/15%. (was 10% for all ranks in our previous update)
- Mental Quickness - Updated stats/description: Reduces the mana cost of your instant cast Shaman spells by 2/4/6% and increases your spells power by an amount equal to 10/20/30% of your attack power.
- Improved Shield - Updated stats: Increases the amount of charges for your Earth Shield by 1/2 (was 1 in our previous update), and increasing the healing done by your Earth Shield by 5/10%.
- Tidal Waves - Updated stats/description: You have a 20/40/60/80/100% chance after you cast Chain heal to lower the cast time of your next three Lesser Healing Wave or Healing Wave spells by 30%, and your Healing Wave and Lesser Healing Wave spells gain an additional 5/10/15/20/25% of your bonus healing effects.

- Curse of Exhaustion - Updated range: It's back to 30 yards range (was 36)
