- Mage: (from our internal patch notes) Arcane Blast effect duration reduced to 3 seconds, now increases damage by 15/30/45% instead of reducing cast time. Mages are still in line for more changes, most of them are talent oriented so it's not really as easy to copy and paste for you. The talent calculator should be updated soon, though. (src)

Patch Notes Updates

The difference between the new patch notes and the old ones are very small, meaning there are many things undocumented.

* Challenging Roar now has a 3 minute cooldown, reduced from 10 minutes.

User Interface

* New Calendar feature: Players will be able to access the new Calendar feature by clicking on the new icon located in the top right corner of their mini map. The calendar will track in game events, allow raid scheduling, and more.
* New Vanity Pet and Mount changes: Players will now be able to access their non-combat pets and mounts by clicking on the pets tab in the Character Info panel.  These pets and mounts will be now learnable much like spells or abilities.  Once a vanity pet or mount is learned, the icon will disappear from within a player’s inventory and reappear in the appropriate tab under the pet tab under Character Info.  Say goodbye to your vanity pets and mounts taking up bag and bank slots!

 Death Knight
Blood

  • Vendetta now heals you up to 2/4% (old version: 3/6%) of your total maximum health.
  • Forceful Deflection - Increases your Parry Rating by 5/10/15/20/25 plus 5/10/15/20/25% of your total Strength. (old numbers for both: 4/8/12/16/20)
  • Blood Gorged (Tier 10) is now only affecting melee damage.
Frost
  • New Tier 8 Talent - Blood of the North - Whenever you used a Blood Strike, there is a 20% chance that the Blood Rune will become a Death Rune when it activates.
  • Frost Strike has been changed - Instantly strike the enemy, causing 50% weapon damage plus 3 as Frost damage. Does double damage to Frozen targets.
  • Improved Icy Touch now does an additional 10/20/30/40/50% damage or 20/40/60/80/100% damage to Frozen Targets.
  • Frost Strike no longer requires Merciless Combat to be trained.
  • Nerves of Cold Steel moved from Tier 3 to Tier 2.
  • Annihilation moved from Tier 6 to Tier 3.
  • Merciless Combat moved from Tier 8 to Tier 6.
  • Aneurysm moved from Tier 8 to Tier 7.
Unholy
  • Corpse explosion damage increased from 60 to 216.
  • Unholy Rune Mastery - When you strike an enemy with Degeneration or Plague Strike there is a 20% chance (old: 10%) that the time it takes for your Unholy Runes to activate will be cut in half for the next 5 sec.
  • Blood-Cake Blade - Your melee attacks and abilities have a 2% chance to cause a disease that deals 50% of your attack's damage over 21 sec.

  Druid
Restoration
  • Replenish - Your Rejuvenation spells has a 5% chance to restore 10 energy, 5 Rage (old: 4), 2% mana or 10 Runic Power per tick .
Feral
  • Primal Tenacity now reduces the duration of Fear effects by 10/20/30% (old version: 5/10/15%) , and reduces all damage taken while Stunned by 10/20/30% (old version: 5/10/15%).
  • Infected Wounds - Your Shred, Maul, and Mangle attacks have a 33% chance to cause an Infected Wound in the target, The Infected Wound reduces the movement speed of the target by 10% and the attack speed by 3% (old version: 10%), Stacks up to 5 times.

  Hunter
  • No talent changes.

  Mage

Tier 1

Arcane Subtlety (Tier 1)
Was: "Reduces your target's resistance to all your spells by 5/10 and reduces threat of arcane spells by 20%/40%."
Now: "Reduces the chance your spells will be dispelled by 15%/30% and reduces the threat caused by arcane spells by 20%/40%."

Tier 2
Wand Specialisation: Removed

Arcane Fortitude - Moved from Tier 3.
Was: "Increases your armor by an amount equal to 100% of your intellect."
Now: "Increases your armor by an amount equal to 50%/100%/150% of your intellect."

Magic Absorption
Was: "Increases all resistances by .2/.4/.6/.8/1 per level and causes all spells you fully resist to restore 1/2/3/4/5% of your total mana. 1sec. cooldown."
Now: "Increases all resistances by .5/1 per level and causes all spells you fully resist to restore 1/2% of your total mana. 1sec. cooldown."

Tier 3
Spell Impact
Was: "Increases the critical strike chance of your Arcane Explosion, Arcane Blast, Blast Wave, Fire Blast, Ice Lance & Cone of Cold spells by an additional 2/4/6%."
Now: "Increases the damage of your Arcane Explosion, Arcane Blast, Blast Wave, Fire Blast, Ice Lance & Cone of Cold spells by an additional 2/4/6%."

Focus Magic - New Talent
65 Mana, 30 yard range, Instant Cast
"Focus your energy on the target, increasing all magic damage taken by that target by 10. Lasts 1 min or until 50 charges are expended."

Improved Mana Shield - Renamed - Arcane Shielding
Was: "Decreases the mana lost per point of damage when Mana Shield is active by 10/20%."
Now: "Decreases the mana lost per point of damage when Mana Shield is active by 10/20% and increases the resistances granted by Mage Armor by 25/50%."

Tier 5
Improved Blink
Was: "For 4 sec after casting Blink, your chance to be hit by all attacks and spells is reduced by 13/25%"
Now: "Reduces the mana cost of blink by 25/50% and for 4 sec after casting Blink, your chance to be hit by all attacks and spells is reduced by 15/30%"

Tier 6
Prismatic Cloak
Was: "Reduces all damage taken by 2/4% and reduces the fade time of your invisibility spell by 1/2 sec."
Now: "Reduces all damage taken by 2/4/6% and reduces the fade time of your invisibility spell by 1/2/3 sec."

Arcane Potency
Was: "Increases the critical strike chance of any spell cast while clearcasting by 10/20/30%."
Now: "Increases the critical strike chance of any spell cast while clearcasting or Presence of Mind is active by 15/30%."

Tier 7
Empowered Arcane Missiles - renamed - Arcane Empowerment
Was: "Your Arcane Missiles spell gains an additional 15/30/45% of your bonus spell damage effects, but mana cost is increased by 2/4/6%"
Now: "Increases the damage of your Arcane Missiles spell by 15/30/45% of your spell power and the damage of your Arcane Blast by 3/6/9% of your spell power."

Tier 8
Arcane Flows
Was: "Reduces the cooldown of Prensence of Mind, Arcane Power & Invisibility spells by 30 secs."
Now: "Reduces the cooldown of Prensence of Mind, Arcane Power & Invisibility spells by 30/60 secs."

Missile Barrage

Now: "Increases the critical strike chance of your Flamestrike, Blast Wave, Dragon's Breath, Living Bomb, Blizzard and Arcane Explosion spells by 2/4/6%."

Improved Scorch
Was: "Your scorch spell has a 33/66/100% chance to cause your target to be vulnerable to fire damage. This vulnerability increases the fire damage dealt to your target by 3% and lasts for 30 secs. Stacks up to 5 times."
Now: "Your Scorch spells have a 33/66/100% chance to cause your target to be vulnerable to Fire, Frost and Arcane damage, increasing damage taken by 2% and lasts 30 sec. Stacks up to 5 times."

Master of Elements
Was: "Your Fire and Frost spell criticals will refund 10/20/30% of their base mana cost"
Now: "Your spell criticals will refund 10% of their base mana cost."

Tier 8
Fiery Payback
Was: "Increases damage caused by Molten Armor by 10/20% and whenever you resist a spell the caster takes 25/50% of any instant damage that would've been caused. Damage caused by Fiery Payback will not exceed 50% of the caster's health."
Now: "When below 35% health all Physical and Fire damage taken is reduced by 10/20% and your Pyroblast spell's cast time is reduced by 1.75/3.5 secs."

Empowered Fireball
Was: "Your Fireball spell gains an additional 3/6/9/12/15% of your bonus spell damage effects"
Now: "Increases the damage of your Fireball spell by an amount equal to 5/10/15% of your spell power."

Tier 9
New Talent - Firestarter (Requires Dragon's Breath)
"Your Blast Wave and Dragon's Breath spells have a 15/30/45% chance to make your next Flamestrike spell instant cast. Lasts 10 sec."

Dragon's Breath - Base damage values appear to have been reduced

Was: "Increases the damage caused by your Frostbolt and Ice Lance spells by 1/2/3/4/5% and reduces the movement speed of all chilled targets by an additional 2/4/6/8/10%."
Now: "Increases the damage caused by your Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt and Ice Lance spells by 1/2/3/4/5% and reduces the movement speed of all chilled targets by an additional 2/4/6/8/10%."

Tier 11
Deep Freeze
Was: "253 mana 30 yd range
1.5 sec cast 30 sec cooldown
Stuns the target for 5 sec. Only usable on Frozen targets."
Now: "8% of base mana 30 yd range
1.5 sec cast 30 sec cooldown
Causes 694 to 806 Frost damage and stuns the target for 5 sec. Only usable on Frozen targets."

  • Fel concentration now also affects Unstable Affliction and Haunt
  • Imp felhunter now only has two ranks (50/100% of the damage, +1/2% to fel intelligence)
  • Eradication is 4/7/10% , only working with corruption.
  • Haunt - Healing done is still bugged . Animation changed, now looks like a white arcane missile.
Demonology
  • Demonic embrace down to 2/4/6/8/10%
  • Unholy power requires SL
  • SL still is 15%
  • DS sort of reverted: imp->+10% fire damage, wv->2%hp/4s, succubus->+10% shadow, felhunter->3%mana/4s, felguard->+10%fire&shadow damage and 2% mana/4s.
  • MD changed: felhunter is now -2/4/6/8/10% magical damage taken
  • Demo emp: succubus isn't healed anymore, felhunter: all spells on it dispelled. Requires MD.
  • Love struck gone, replaced by Imp Demo Tac: requires demo tac, demon crit chance increased by 10/20/30% of your crit chance.
  • Demonic empathy changed: +2/4/6% damage to the next three spells/attack when the other is critically hit. 15s duration.
  • Metamorphosis now also reduces the duration of stuns/snare by 50% when used. the tooltip doesn't mention the pet anymore.
  • Mount summoning is in the new mount interface instead of the spell book.
Destruction
  • Bane now also reduces the cast time of Haunt by 0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5s
  • Molten Core increased to 5/10/15% chance. (old: 4/7/10)
  • Aftermath is 5/10%
  • Nether protection is now a 60% damage reduction instead of immunity.
  • Emberstorm is a flat -0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5s cast time reduction to immo instead of -2/4/6/8/10% cast time. Effect to fire damage unchanged.
  • Imp Soul Leech down to 5/10%. (old:15/30)
  • Imp conflag (Backdraft): when conflag is cast, reduces the cast time of next three destro spells by 10/20/30%. 15s duration.
  • Eternal flames tooltip is in broken English. Seems now it's a 100% chance to do the old effect at all ranks, and now increases immolation damage by 1/2/3/4/5%.
  • Chaos bolt doesn't pierce through immunities anymore (can't be resisted, pierces through absorption).
Warlock pet changes (src)
  • Felhunter: Paranoia and Tainted Blood have been replaced with Fel Intelligence and Shadow Bite.
  • Shadow Bite (Felhunter): Deals Shadow damage plus additional 5% Shadow damage for each damage over time effect on the target. 6 sec cooldown.
  • Fel Intelligence (Felhunter): Increases total Intellect and Spirit of party and raid members by 3%. Lasts until cancelled.
  • New Talent: Improved Felhunter (Affliction) - Your Felhunter gains mana equal to 50/100% of the damage done by it's Shadow Bite ability, and increases the effect of your Felhunter's Fel Intelligence by 1/2%.
  • Felguard: Health increased by 10%.
  • Succubus: Health increased by 20%, armor increased 22%.
  • Imp: Health increased 20%, Armor increased 16%, mana regeneration increased 200%.
  • Voidwalker: Health increased by 20%, Damage increased by 16%. The amount of attack power the Voidwalker gains from it's master's spell damage has been increased by 45%.
  • Consume Shadows (Voidwalker): Duration reduced to 6 seconds, and effect increased 66%. Now also greatly increases all nearby allies stealth detection while channeled.
  • Summon Dreadsteed/Felsteed: Mana cost removed, global cooldown removed.
  • Bane now also reduces the cast time of your Haunt spell.
  • Infernal: Cooldown reduced to 15 minutes, down from 1 hour. Duration reduced to 1 minute, down from 5 minutes+. Health increased by 30%, damage increased by 60%, and armor increased 30%.
  • Doomguard: Health increased 20%, mana increased 24%.
  • Avoidance (Felguard) - Now reduces damage taken from area of effect attacks by an additional 80%.
  • Avoidance: Now automatically learned for the Succubus, Imp, Voidwalker and Felhunter at level 10.


  Warrior
  • no talent changes.
  • Pummel/Shield Bash are no longer affected by the global cooldown. (screenshot)
