It's amazing to see how much hate is pouring out in the forums about this. It's a pet. It's not gonna help you with game play in any way. It's just gonna sit there and look pretty.

As long as blizz only adds vanity items to the micro-(or is it mini-)transaction system, I am okay with it. Vanity Pets, Mounts, Toy items are all fine. Here's to hoping that blizz doesn't decide to sell Gear or Heirloom Items for cash.

How often does he do that?
Seeing him in action in Azjol before jumping down to Anub would be hilarious. Or the snakes in Gundrak..

Well the critter iceblock is his "rare" animation. Here is the standard idle animation, watch at 25 seconds.

I could go on about how the pandarens are more peaceful race like the taurens and they wouldn't go around punching other creatures for the sake of just hitting something. But as far as the animation goes is a salute and few moves, though it's interesting that when you summon them. The monk you drink a beer and KT you shadow summon him.

I would respect this annoucement if, and only if, 100% of the money was given to the make-a-wish foundation.

It costs blizzard next to nothing to implement this system, it would be nice of them to participate in the costs by setting it up for free, and then sending 10$ straight to the foundation.

Instead it's just another way for them to make a profit, they're just using the foundation as a pretext.

Well, Blizzard doesn't have to make any donations. If they were very eager to make a profit, why would they bother with donating money?

While I think this is a "soft opening" like thing they are doing to test the waters, I really think it is a great idea. Even though I wouldn't pay $10 for mini-pets, it really opens the door to other things they can add in the future. I honestly don't see a major difference between this and purchasing the card game for the loot cards, which many people do. I definitely support Blizzard for this, and look forward to what they can do with it in the future.
