I agree once again a competion not for the EU when are blizz gonna do anything for the EU i think the past 5 comps have all be US only are they forgetting the other half the world or just to one sided to remember us that are paying them every week for the privalge to play.

There was actually a competition available for European players (I belive it was something like a Fan Art or Lore contest, I am not sure). However, only German and French players were eligible as far as I know.

It's not fair, mommy, the big bad Blizzard doesn't want to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight with lawyers in 300 different countries so that I can have a chance to win a free $200.00 video card! They only offer it to the US customers, who as a single nation, haven't changed contest/giveaway laws in the last 50 years -- and all their lawyers had to study it in law school, so they don't even have to do research.

I honestly wish it was easier to involve Europe in contest/sweepstakes. I hate hearing of a new sweepstakes we have that won't be able to allow EU players to sign up.

Unfortunately (after doing research on the laws myself because I've been adamant about getting European players included) the laws differ so much that it's hard to convince anyone to support it. France as an example, you must hire a third party to do the drawing in the sweepstakes for you, and they must be licensed to do that (a bailiff, actually) -- you can't just pick some random person off the street to do the drawing and call it good.

Countries like Norway completely forbid sweepstakes. The UK, Netherlands, and Germany are viable, but many are not.

Contests is another situation, and I'm going to look into that further. There are different laws in some cases due to contests typically involving participant skill, rather than random chance.

I'm guessing a lot of EU players post here, because I'm in Canada...I can drive to the States in half an hour, and I can't compete in the contests either.

As someone stated, there's too much legal stuff involved. I think it sucks that we can't participate, but if they make a EU exclusive contest that works around laws, they're going to have to do the same for every country, and that's a lot of headaches I'm sure.

Regardless, I always see EU people feeling snubbed with comments like "No surprise there" like Blizz has a vendetta against you People say (though most of the time it's people that aren't up on current events) Canada is basically another state (always a funny comment to read to make you shake your head at people) but alas, we're just as left out as Egypt on these types of things.
