To head this off at the pass, this is not meant as a knock on Nymh. Congrats on hitting level 80 so fast. However, I do think the method used will be changed or "fixed".

Good for him, but if I leveled my chars that fast Id feel ive missed pretty much the whole Northrend storyline.

No, not really: he can still go back and do the quests. And fetch a pretty penny while doing it, too!

Well he is the one who is broadcasting it. I am sure there are lvl 80s who do not feel the urge to go public with their achievement. That said, really big congrats to the guy and I will try to grind the same spot as he did to get to 80 as fast as possible although I do not have the time to do it. Damn you RL.

Just to comment on the actual question...world first is world first, there really is no argument to be made. The first person in the world to be 80 IS the first person in the world to be 80. Can debate if this is the character but it's a pretty easy question to answer.

/played would give the fastest which is not the debate and certainly will be up for grabs for some time.

And seems pointless to judge how people play the game. I like fighting for every talent point in all the classes. Not so much the quests, just figuring out a play style every level.

But I do hope he likes WoW for more than dropping $40 to lvl a char in a couple days.

I wish athene would had said something about it...but he hit 80 in 13 hours after wrath's launch.

He then got a suspension for it, but he has the SS of a GM saying that it was a legitimate way to level, and then a different GM said it was an exploit...ill get the SS up here in a minute.

He went into an instance with his guild, left the group, tagged the mob, they killed it, and joined the group so he didn't get kicked and hit 80 in just under 13 hours, but never mentioned it to any major site.

Leveling at this rate is stupid. I don't know why people play RPG's just to blast through it all as fast as possible.

why would any of the major sites credit somebody that did not actualy hit 80 before taken action against for abusing the instance system?

the only fault done by blizz in this case was by the gm(if not faked pic) that stated his opinion on the situation that is not in his field of expertise as it would be upto a acc manager.

Athene's still first to 80 in my book. This guy Nymh did a fine job of leveling quickly, but he's still second.

athene did indeed do a great job as first 80 to not yet hit 80, tho then again 98% of wow has also done this

Nymp is a pretender, the guy Athene boosted is the first actual lvl80 - Blizzard needs to get their facts straight, and apologise to him.
