New GPS Leveling Website

Hey All,

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here.. so sorry if there's a rule against it.. feel free to remove my post if thats the case.

I just wanted to spread the word..

Me and my team have just developed a very cool leveling GPS style website that we think will help you level a little easier. It's completely free and we think it will be a extremely helpful tool. It's still in Beta and needs some work done but it's good enough to use right now.

The site works by tracking the leveling routes of everyone who downloads and installs our addon. Exactly the same way wowhead or thottbot gathers their data. It runs behind the scenes and you never know its there. It won't bother your game play at all.

It then takes the data and creates a step-by-step leveling guide! This is partnered with an interactive map that shows you the exact location you need to complete each step.

Other people can search the site for a level range they want a route for and filter it by class, faction, and server type. And you will get a list of the fastest routes ever recorded. Choose the one you like and start following it!

It's a bit hard to explain and you can understand how it works better by visiting the site and testing it out yourself from 1-5, there's only 1 test route up there right now since the site was JUST launched but hopefully with your help there will be more routes soon.

We've started a 70-80 leveling contest with rewards of almost $2,000 in cash to spark interest and motivate people to contribute.

The fastest 70-80 /played time is the winner.. not the first the 80. This should give everyone a shot at winning.

Btw, this deserves a news post (or added in latest news). I really like the idea.

Btw, there is a way to cheat a little. 10 days in an inn gives 1½ rested level. Then you'll have 18 days left to level. And considering you could rest about 10h/day you probably can save up to another level rested.

Dunno if you would call this cheating (everyone can do it). But it sure gives an advantage not to level the first 10 days.

But as said, everyone can do the same. So it's their own fault if they start level 10 days later, just to get an advantage, hehe.

I'll just race...and race...and race all from start in about 25h.

And one more thing. Will the site ignore reqruit-a-friend tracked routes? Or have a tag that RAF was used? Can mess up things alot.

Oh, one more thing. I can't find the lvl 1-15 route you write about. :S

About the rested exp thing..

We have something that checks the rested exp and if a person has something like 30% rested exp or more (i don't remember the exact percentage) it won't accept the route.

I should mention that in the contest details. Thanks for reminding me.

But this means you're disqualified if you ever got more than 30% rested exp?

Yeah I just thought about something though.. we have to remove that 30% thing since most people will be at 100% rested from 70-71. Didn't think about that before.

We could have the script skip 70-71 though. I dunno.

I think rested is reset when you upgrade your account. Either that or rested is just plain not accrued at level cap. Either way, no one should have much rested xp when they hit Northrend initially.

Correct, rested xp is not accumulated when you are at the level cap. So until you upgrade your account for wotlk you wont have any rested exp.

Yepp, rested will reset (if there is any?). So that will not be an issue. I will not be first to 80 on my /played. I will level BS/mining and all my secondary aswell on the run. Doubt that anyone that will do the same will stand a chance either.

But will be fun to compare with other of same class...or overall.

The one that will win will have all his "afk" time when travelling. No time for anything else to be able to win i guess, hehe.
