"Hey guys, Mythic (Warhammer Online) is doing something else better than us. When playing a pet class, when the pet is set to "Defensive Stance", the pet will attack your target when you do, not when the target attacks you.
Let's make like an original idea and steal this too. No one will notice we're copying 90% of WAR's new features."

Brilliant. Just brilliant.

All games would be pretty boring if they didn't copy ideas from one another. Have you seen the default WoW interface and the default WAR interface? It's quite eerie...

I never said it was an accurate number, if I wanted to be 100% truthful, I wouldn't have included a number at all.

I'm just getting my point across that since WAR has been out, Blizzard has been pulling stuff out of that game left and right.
Not saying I hate Blizzard for it either, some of these features would make the game better off. As long as they don't copy EVERYTHING that makes WAR unique, I'll be happy.

I play both games BTW.

On the interface subject... They really aren't much alike if you go into detail, that said, every MMO's interface will look relatively the same, you can't have your hotkeys all over the screen, or your health bar smack dab in the middle. It's common sense that all MMO's interfaces will be somewhat familiar.
And if you're going to say the WoW -> WAR interface is eerie... I'll go ahead and say the EQ -> WoW interface resemblance is eerie.

Damn us humans and copying evolution from the dinosaurs (and other pre Homo Sapien lifeforms)!

In almost every case of something being 'copied' from something else I can guarantee you I can find a game from years ago with a similar mechanic that's being 'copied' into a game from another game.

I know we have neglected the beta forums. Beta is ending soon and I thought it was more important to try and invest a little energy in getting these role forums off to a good start.

eu beta forums havent had a single blue post in their entire existance (well, just some cm's....but their just the messengers)

What is that bullshit about professions ? Id like to see someone who takes blacksmithing as a purely "fun" profession. If you take BS you have to go for mining unless you got a gbank backing you up and mining is among the most tedious things to do in game. In 99% of cases you take a profession because the guild demands you to or because your char needs it. Such as engeneering with pvp or enchanting with hardcore raider.
According to their way of thinking a priest could go with leatherworking as a profession or a warrior with tailoring.

Thats what there saying. They have changed it so you no longer need to take one over the other.

With boe epics you can get something made by your guildmate.

And every profesion now has there own little advanatge, enchanters have there enchants on rings, blackmsith has there bonus sockets etc.

And I have mining on three of my characters, its easy to farm.

So a warrior can now take tailoring and not loss out for it.

Well to me it still sounds like they are providing the benefical additions to each profession according the traditional BS is for warriors model. I have mining on two of my chars and it is boring as hell even if you know the spawn spots.

How was it random when there are 2 posts above mine bitching about how grinding a profession is boring? Also pretty sure I'm not random ... here all the time, read all the news, try to constructively contribute to the majority of posts I tag.

Check the post count.
