Anyways, being bored trolling forums and all I decided to make a new thread on making your own boss fight, seeing all those favorite instance forums we had.
So ill go first

first off the boss fight is in the middle of a room
there is 2 doors, one where you enter, and another where adds spwn on the opposite side of the room so it would be liek this

____________________________ spwns ________________________
Boss
____________________________ entrance ________________________
Though the room wouldn't be that thin(just saving space)

The boss has two phases...

P1 is tank and spank except that the boss has an aura that does 1% of everyones health every 3 seconds
Also in P1 the boss has an ability to crash the walls on someone (2 second cast), dealing 99% of their health in physical dmg
Lasts 1min

P2: The Boss places a bubble on himself, reducing spell dmg taken by 100% for the duration of p2--Physical Dmg dealers must nuke the boss (though he has extremely high armor) to drop 10%

While Physical Dps are killing boss, adds will spwn, at the spwn point in the picture. These adds are immune to physical dmg(so a pally must tank them)
Adds will spwn every 2% until the phase is over

Rinse and Repeat...

to easy main tank on the boss and everyone else stand right behinde the boss casters melle and healers. Fight is a simple tank and spank circle of healing effects entire raid ruling out the 1% every 3 second everyone is away from walls ruling out that physic and adds will all go on the 1 pally tank since the entire raid is in 1 spot :/ need to add more physcis in there to make it more complicated like having some sort of debuff forcing peopel to spread out and not stack up

i jsut thought that if by walls u meant ceiling then yes that woudl be viable but to overpowered becuase with the 2 second cast and the 3 second 1% hp debuff there is almost no way to beat that boss if that were the case even with everyone healing non stop there would be points when the 1% woudl tick and the ceiling would fall at the same time insta gib and theres nothing u can do to stop it becuase 2 seconds isint enough time especially if its a wall

its only one who gets the wall thing, easy..
especially if you think that the cast is timed on his aura, so you have 2 sec after the cast till the aura ticks or something like that

Where is Mankrik's wife?

Setting: Big circular room with 6-8 pillars ranged in a circle not far from the wall. These pillars will be moving up and down at random intervals one at a time.

Fight:
Phase 1
Tanked in the middle of the room with the casters grouped up. When engaged, 2 flying things (lack of imagination) fly in through opening in the roof and must be tanked by 2 warlocks with no specific resist gear. melee will continue burning the boss while ranged dps takes down one add at a time. Adds have roughly 250,000 hp. Every 5% that the boss drops, one add will spawn.

Every 20-30 seconds a random player (not a tank however) is targeted by the boss and begins casting Pyroblast (6 second cast) which deals 1000000000000 damage, a one shot essentially. The player must find the nearest pillar that is in its down position and LOS the pyroblast (taking advantage of Blizzards new LOS mechanic here)

This phase will continue until 30%

Phase 2
Once you reach 30% he becomes weakened and runs around the room helplessly. He calls for help, now adds begin pouring into the room, low hitting but if you get too many you can easily be over ran. Earthbind totems, blizards, frost traps, any snaring ability should be used to keep the adds at bay while you go full out on the boss. Then collect your loots.

Here is an idea of a boss encounter who was dreamed by a mate. I didn't ask him if I may post it but he did post it on WoW official forum suggestion. So I hope he won't need to slap me ^^

Title: Boss encounter M-Ahel
Genre: New Boss Encounter
Suggestion by: Manbane from Argent Dawn

Lore:
Can be fitted into any type of lore. M-Ahel is a former (royal?) priest whom dwelled deeper into the godlike forms of healing. His growing power made him fanatic in a sense of purging evil and that which corrupts and damage flesh and mind. He formed a circle of subjects devoted to him and raising him to a godly status. All in a quest to create a army who would mentally conquer his version of evil. As with most who views the world in black and white his fanatic attitude rewarded him with a banishmen from the realm with which he took his followers to a new master (add to WoW-lore which will be one of the Dungeon-bosses). There he could peacefully study with his minions and explore deeper into the mysteries of holy magics. He pays his new master by sustaining his masters life. Prolonging it and strengthen him/her.
The last boss of this dungeon cannot be reasonable beaten without taking down M-Ahel first. Alternativly adding bonus loot for downing last boss without killing M-Ahel first.

Appearance:
M-Ahel looks more lika a Tier6 priest but slightly grander. M-Ahels shield makes him glow very bright white light. He also has flapping wings very similar to the Warlock T6 headpiece-visuals (the flapping bat-wings as you may recall).
M-Ahels minions are looking like robed slim humans. Their faces vieled by the hoods shadow. Slightly hunched.

Encounter:
Trashmobs of minions guard him which should have low health but be protected by mana-shields. They should have mindcontrolling spells, ressurecting spells and be able to "posses"*

Phase one
The boss himself is a fanatic mindbender, but also a coward. He wields a 2-H staff which does mediocre dmg with a relative low swingtimer. On every hit, however, the target has a chance of getting either a mindcontrol by M-Ahel.
M-Ahel has a 1 minute cd on "forgetfulness". A spell that prevents all mana-consuming abilities to be used. This lasts for 10 seconds. Players currently mindcontrolled can use spells however.
He also has a large glowing shield that damaging every player within 20 yards of him with a dmg tick equal to 6% of their total health (or a minimum amount set of dmg if player has lower than recommended gear for this encounter). Also by M-Ahel's shield, he cannot be afflicted by sustaining spells and affects, such as curses, bleeding effects or dots (debuffs in general).
Every 15 second, M-Ahel blasts out a manaburning frontal cone that burns 20% of the targets mana and health. Those dmg'ed by this cone-attack will recieve a mana-embar in their inventory which they can use to regain 10% of their mana and health. If the player targets a minion (read below) and uses the ember they will instead possess that target until the minion reaches below 10% health.

There will be groups of 3 minions spawning to aid M-Ahel every 20 second. They have very low health protected by purgeable manashields that absorbs a medicore amount of dmg and prevents them from being dmg by macial spells. They hit hard enough to kill a cloth-wearer in 2-3 hits.
His minions can also remove any single buff from players (except consumable-buffs). They do this by a 10 second cooldown and does so on random targets.

Phase two
When M-Ahel reaces 65% of health phase two starts.
During this phase there will lo longer spaw any minions.
M-Ahel will now instead possess the target highest on threatlist. While posssessed the target grow in size and M-Ahel gains a buffed version of that player abilities. When the possessed players health reaches 10%, M-Ahel leaves the player and instantly possess the closest player in range. For every transistion M-Ahel looses 5% health. Every player that the mindcontrolled-player kills will be ressurected as a minion when M-Ahel reaches 30%.

Phase three
Same as phase one except that if any minions are resurrected from phase two deaths, they will possess players and keep possess-jumping players when the current player reaches 10% health.

To kill:
In phase one...
The raid need to mindcontrol his minions using the embers they will have regulary gotten in their inventory, and use the mindcontrolled minions to remove M-Ahel's shield. M-Ahel will reapply his shield every 30 seconds so this must be done regulary. The minions take dmg during the mindcontol just as any player do by M-Ahels shield. Also, while they are mindcontrolled their cd on removing magic is greatly increased as they are no longer buffed by the grace of M-Ahel.
During the time his shield is down the raid can deal dmg to M-Ahel.

In phase two...
When M-Ahel reaches 65% he will instantly possess the player highest on aggro. Nuke down the possessed player to 10% and force M-Ahel to possess anotherplayer. Everytime he does this he looses 5% of his health. Burn your possessed players down to 10% for 7 "jumps" until M-Ahel reaches 30% and phase three begins.

In phase three...
Keep mindcontrolling his minions and kill off any resurrected minions you might have gotten to keep the possessions from running loose and kill more players. Keep burning him when his shield is down and do all this before a set enrage timer.

*Possess; A player is being possessed by a mob and will use his abilities against him. Only way to save the player is to burn him down to 10% health.

Boss Fight : Arthas

Before you enter his throne room each person must aquire a sacred flame from alexstrasza

phase 1: arthas is not attackable and calls forth minions from the bones laying all around his room,

ice skeleton soldier: 4 spawn every minute and increase damage they do by 25%
for every one within 10 yards of each other. 2 can be shackled, they can be stun and feared though every time they switch targets they deal 10% more damage. will freeze current tank target in place

iced crypt fiend: 1 spawn every minute hit extremely hard and must be picked up asap or 1 shot any non tanks. each ice skeleton within 30 yards will let him do 25% more damage. randomly targets people and throws ice blasts at them causing high frost damage and freezes them for 10 seconds. can be removed with sacred flame.

deathknight frostlord: spawns 1 every minute must be tanked asap or 1 shot any non tank. for every ice skeleton solider with 30 yards of him deals 25% more damage. can dispell cc affects from ice skeleton soliders with 30 yards of him. aura of death causes decent shadow damage every 3 seconds for people within 40 yards. your stanard blizzard and frost nova 20 yard range.

adds spawn like that at same time until 5:00 minutes the arthas makes his decent slowly down stairs. he will aggro 1 minute after his decent down stairs all adds must die.

phase 2: arthas moves at same speed as normal player speed but if his main target is farther then 5 yards from him he will cast death grip and do frost slash 1 shotting that person. arthas will cast 1 dark plague on tank for each successful melee attack deals decent damage and must be removed by decursing asap for if 8 stack on his current target he will cast soul shatter which will instant kill target. he will occasionally throw ice swords down from sky getting hit by 1 will cause decent damage but after 5 seconds blow up and deal 1 shotting aoe damage. this phase will last until 50%

phase 3: arthas becomes unattackable and encases everyone in ice tombs u must use ur sacred flame to remove it or die within 4 seconds. Arthas will then reset aggro and continue like phase 2 except he will cast frost tombs on 5 random people every 12 seconds. mt cannot be the target of this ability. if the frost tomb lasts 4 seconds that person and anyone with 15 yards will die also.
this phase will last until 25%

phase 4: arthas will start freaking out and split himself from his helm. revealing his face and spawning ner'zhul the second being of the lich king.
ner'zhul then kills arthas saying that he was holding him back ner'zhul starting at 100%. nar'zhul still has same abilities as lich king but now calls forth minions to spawn throughout the fight. 1 iced crypt fiend and 1 deathknight frostlord will spawn every 1 minute. ner'zhul has much lower health then arthas. phase ends at 30%

phase 5: at 30% adds will stop spawning but ner'zhul will cast raise dead on corpse of arthas. both arthas and ner'zhul have same abilities from last phase with 1 more. the walls around the throne will shatter creating icicles spinning around the room non stop. they will occasionally drop from sky deal high frost damage and a bleed affect. ner'zhul must be brought down from 30% to dead in order to free arthas of raise dead. arthas will thank you heroes for what you have done and leaves swearing that frostmourne will be destroyed once and for all.

raid cheers and chest tokens of (that tier) and best weapons in game drop!!!

boss fight title: healers pwn!
boss name: unknown (doesnt really matter, just add some lore in and fit it to whatever)
fight setting: the boss is currently out of control and is starting to be corrupted, as the encounter starts a friendly npc arrives to try to contain the corruption.

phase 1: dps the boss down to 20% before he's completely corrupted, it takes 3mins to become fully corrupted if that happens its an instant wipe

phase 2: as the corruption is being contained by the friendly npc, healers must bring the bosses life back to 100% so the current boss frees itself. while this is happening the room will be invaded by loads of adds. each add will focus on boss and will try to deal damage to it, if it does each add applies a debuff that reduces healing taken by the target by 3% lasts 20secs and stacks up to 75%. it must be done before 5mins or the npc containing the corruption will fail the containment causing the boss to wipe the raid.

phase 3: the corruptor reveals itself and must be killed in 5 mins or he enrages, adds will still be spawning but at a slower rate but going for random targets (aside from the MT) they must be CC'd or killed so you dont get overrun. both the 1st "boss" and the friendly npc are now aiding you in the fight and provide you with mana regen and increased dmg on the current boss.

phase 4: EPIXXXXX!!!!!!

not rly, i've done akama. akama is just kill adds and tank some, kill the channelers then kill the shade, the shade isnt even tanked by a player. my idea was to make the healers "dps in reverse" the boss.

<Omen>
EU-The Sha'tar
Boss: Hottage
Model: HUGE Human female paladin with T6 and Torch of the Damned
Content Level: 70 - 25man
Health: 25 million
Mana: 2 million

Melee:
Normal hits for 30k on unarmored target - 3 second swing time.

Boss has base 9,000 armor. Approximately 45% physical damage reduction.

Boss is tauntable.

Special Abilities:
Consecration - Causes 2500 damage every 2 seconds in an area, always cast under the boss. 12 second Cool Down
Repentance - Deals 2000 damage and incapacitates the raid for 12 seconds. Dispellable. 2min Cool Down
Avenging Wrath - "Enrage" used after 20 minutes - increases damage by 500% and attack speed by 500%. Raid wipe mechanic. (But oh so fun to watch!).
Crusader Strike - 10 second Cooldown: Deals 100% of weapon damage to the target and increases all damage delt to them by 150% for 25 seconds.
Holy Light - 2.5 second cast - interuptable - Heals the boss for 50,000 health, if interupted causes all other abilities to be unusable for 10 seconds. Cast every 40 seconds.
Righteous Fury - Increases spell casting and attack speed by 100% for 30 seconds - 1 min CD - Dispel/Stealable.

The boss will switch aura between the following every 15 seconds at random.
Spell Warding Aura - Reflects all spells back at the attacker.
Retribution Aura - Deals 200 damage to all melee attackers.
Devotion Aura - Reduces all damage taken by 20%.
Sanctity Aura - Increases all damage delt by 10%

The boss will also use one of the following Seals every 10 seconds at random. If a seal is still active when timer expires, the Judgement effect is used. Seals are dispellable. Judgements can be reflected.
Seal of Command - All melee attacks deal extra 50% weapon damage as Holy damage. Judgement deals 5000 holy damage to all raid members
Seal of Light - Heals the boss for 50000 damage every melee hit, if judged heals the boss for 100,000.
Seal of Redemption - This Seal causes all melee attacks to deal an extra 2000 holy damage, and when judged causes the target to take an extra 50% damage. Dispelling this Seal will cause 5000 damage to all raid members and a 4 second AoE silence. (basically dispelling this is likely to wipe raid, reflecting the Judgement is bascially like Deaden).

Boss quotes:
Engage: "Viva la Retribution." / "You want me to heal WHAT?!"
Kills raid member: "LOL RET" / "Nerf paladins." / "You are past Redemption!"
Enrage: "ANGEL WINGS RAWR!"
Death: "Buff paladins " / "I lagged!"

I've made up two and I'll make them as two separate posts for reading ease:

This first boss was made when I heard they were reissuing Naxxramas as a new way to do Noth

Overview:
Boss is very magic resistant, so casters will mostly focus on adds
Noth is weak to holy damage, so go ret pallies!
With Noth's abilities the best tanking class for him is a Paladin and if not a paladin then a death knight, warriors can tank him too, but paladin is the most preferred class.
Noth also has a LOT of Health
The skeleton adds are low health, mdoerade damage dealing, but there is a LOT of them, they are not like old Noth, they are more like a hardcore AoE slaughterfest. so Mages and locks have to go nuts AoEing

Phase 1:
Noth's abilities are pretty tame to start. He does some funny necromancerey stuff like pick up a random raider and toss him to the other side of the room, every 30 seconds he does a nova move that knocks everyone around him back 10 yards, puts a slow effect on everyone who got hit by it, and resets aggro on all of them, so the trick is either get a DK tank or intercept taunt or the pally taunt cause he will aggro a caster pretty soon.

Every few seconds he does the typical "Rise my soldiers. Rise and fight once more!" and waves of skeletons come out, they do moderate damage, but die easily, but there is a lot of them. The challenge is for AoE classes (Mages and Locks) to do enough AoE to kill them all before the next wave. Too many can overwhelm the raid very quickly.

Phase 2:
When Noth reaches 25% he sacrifices all of his skeletons (in the last few percent by this point skeletons might be overwhelming the raid so you might just focus him to this stage) and makes this bone shield. The ground cracks with something that looks like a black consecrate. Everyone in the raid will take damage that starts small but becomes unmanageable after a minute or so. The shield he made however is immune to all damage.

Except holy damage.

So pallies and priests will have to mad smite to break the shield while other healers manage the raid, everyone else gets into position and tries to keep themselves alive with pots and stones or whatnot.

Phase 3:

When the shield breaks the raid gets a huge haste, AP spell damage and spell healing buff. Noth has turned into a lich. He does an AoE rain of bones that hits everyone for a lot of damage and doesn't aggro anyone. The trick here is to go apeshit and burn him down before the healers lose their mana.

Phase 4 or his last fuck you:
When he dies he turns into a black orb for 10 seconds. You HAVE to kill the orb before that time is up or he comes to 100% at the beginning of stage 3 and is essentially a wipe. No damage is done so EVERYONE Dps

He dies and we get loot
