I will come right out and say that 10 man raiding has really got me excited about WoW again...I mean really excited. I am currently in a break from WoW (have been since January) to take the Bar exam and go to military training, but will get back playing again early next year once life settles down.
I always ended up in semi-casual/semi-hardcore raiding guilds and really enjoyed it. 40 man was fine, so was 25 man. I'm not picky about my raid experiences, but I'll pass on shitty players and constant wiping. I originally thought myself a loot-motivated player. You know the type, we raid because we want to progress our player through loot. After having taken multiple breaks from WoW after burning out on raiding, I've realized that I really enjoy the social and content aspects of raiding more than the gear progression. And this is why I'm reallying looking forward to the 10 man option.
This is going to allow me to experience all the raiding content with the people who I enjoy playing with most. I'm excited that I'm going to actually be able to see Arthas (and hopefully kill!) while not burning out on the large raid grind. I prefer to raid with people I like and do fairly well, opposed to raiding with asshats and clearing through content at a fast pace.
I realize this post lacks structure and doesn't flow very well, but I've been studying all day and am mentally exhausted.

I hate every form of 10 man raiding its more a party then raiding anyway ....
But i can live with that, but what makes me really angry is the fact you can be able to experience the same bosses 10man, as 25man, and we all know it will be easier 10 man then 25 so everyone will go "uh lets do all raids 10man so we can see everything and dont have the joy by learning the encounter 25man" pfft
But im still gonna buy it and play it

The 10 man version will have inferior gear so raiders will still go to the 25 man version.
the 10 and 25 of each instance idea is great

I loved 40 man raids pre_TBC , I love 25/10 man raids now and will love them in WoltK too. So to answer to your "Who else is really really excited about WotLK raiding?" Yes I am excited about WotlK raiding
Now just need Blizzard to speed up the processes of designing and testing!

I am excited about WotLK raiding. Mainly the very dark atmosphere they seem to promise us. However, the idea of a 10/25 man for same dungeon looks absolutely not appealing to me.
But to be honest the think that Excite me the most is that idea of being able to offer a ride to any friend on my mount.

I am really excited, because my guild has about 15 hardcore players like me, and we will be able to grind to 80 together, and see some of that content. Instead of having to wait for the slow pokes to get to 80 and hope to fill a 25 man raid.

IMO the 10/25 man raid design is a terrible idea..... Even palyers who aren't that good will get to see the stuff that only the best and most elite players in WoW deserve to see even if they aren't getting the best loot. It's not the loot I so much care about in the 10/25 man idea. It's the fact that only the best players should get to see the kool events and encounters of end game raiding, and it should have to always be done with 20 people or more imho.

I'm not really going to be excited, I'll see what WotLK brings really, I wasn't excited about TBC raiding because of the whole 25-men idea, but in the end it wasn't really that bad at all. So, I'll see what it'll bring.

This is the one point that I vehemently disagree with, but that might just be me. For the most part, all of us have grown with the Warcraft series...we've all loved the lore and characters. WoW was only possible because of the success of the RTS (is that how you characterize the original Warcraft games?). I would feel utterly cheated if I didn't get to at least experience the characters from lore that I followed through the series.
That being said, I am definately a proponent of hardcore raiding and sympathetic of their plight. I definately agree that they should be given something (beyond merely gear) to set them apart from the general WoW populace for their achievements (just watching the vid of Kil'Jaeden awed me at the complexity of the encounter). I just don't think that distinction should be experiencing the great lore characters. I'm certinaly not a left brain person, but I'm pretty sure Blizzard has plenty of them on staff. They have to be able to come up with some distinction or honor for those that complete the game on its most difficult level (25 man raids). That distinction, however, shouldn't come at the expense of those of us that have followed the series so closely, but just don't have the time, ability, or skill to clear 25 man content.

The hardcore raiders, like you, that have cleared all that content, probably make up 10% of the people playing WoW.
Why spend a sh*tload of money to make WoW, and then basically tell 90% of the people, we don't want you to see all this. Why spend all that time making the last boss a perfect fight, when hardly anyone will see it?
Makes sense to me to give everyone a shot. Plus your elitist point of view doesn't speak as much as 10 million people. Those people want to see the end game content.
