The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia

Must love these US only events. QQ

All contests are only for the US. It's kinda BS that they would even allow the game in Canada is we can't even participate in anything.

Hello friends, ckknight here.

Yea, I'm the author of Cartographer3. You may be thinking that it's a copy of Carbonite, and to be honest, you're partially right.

The following things must be taken note of, though:
(1) I didn't take any of Carbonite's code, also, my code is fully readable, whereas Carbonite's is obfuscated and encrypted. I don't like not knowing what's going on in the addons I run.
(2) Cartographer3, although it has less features, uses a significantly smaller amount of CPU and memory usage, which translates into higher FPS.
(3) Cartographer3 is far from done, I cannot stress that enough. It's just a beta now. I'm working on things such as instances and battlegrounds for it and in the future there will be optional modules to show mining/herbalism nodes and the like as well as plenty of other things.

I want to keep Cartographer3 relatively lightweight, but still quite featureful. I also plan to support 3rd-party addons such as Gatherer, GatherMate, Routes, HandyNotes, etc. If Cartographer3 does not supply a feature you want or you merely prefer the alternative they provide.

Well ckknight I certainly hope you go ahead with this - it has great potential.

But frankly I hope you do copy some things from Carbonite quest:

Like you can bind a hotkey for a full screen map and another key for a smaller map.

That you can keep your original map as well as use the zoom map.

That you can rightclick on the map and set a waypoint and set a waypoint at that location.

That it works with a map mod like metamap (or that you add its questing abilities, for which i keep it) currently it screws it totally up.

And that the map can be closed with ESC.

But I understand its early days yet - so no complaints
