#.#.1 is reserved for "A patch that may be necessary immediately after the release of a major content patch, in the event that said major content patch causes an unforeseen issue that cannot be resolved with a Hotfix."
Old WoW players may remember the content patch that - when it was installed, made everyone "warp around" instead of run correctly. An #.#.1 patch was quickly released to correct that.
Since they are using 3.0.0 to refer to the Beta, I guess they are assuming (by using 3.0.2) that there will be no need for a 3.0.1, a.k.a an "o S*** what did we do" patch.
