Ya, I understand what research and development states. I'm just saying that it's all about personal preference. If a statistic says 75% don't like black background, but in actuality 50% people don't like black background... Would you say it was completely inaccurate research?

Research is always inaccurate to some bit, but a 33% mistake would be unacceptable. I'd call a research on web preferences reasonably accurate if it had 1000+ test subjects and estimated mistake of less than 5%.

I also think the new layout fails... miserably. I'll be finding a new site to get news unless either a new layout is selectable or boxes on the home page are collapsible.

This site now looks like any other module based, forum software site.

Basically, this site now looks like vBulletin where in the past it looked like World of Raids. This looks like something who if they had an hour and some hosting space they could have setup in 10 minutes. I hope you didn't pay the person who did this skin because what they did wasn't difficult.

Curse gaming also had a ton of criticism when they launched their new site. They listened to the people and fixed their their mistakes and errors. They also did not make the worst mistake by making a black background with white text.

WoR staff. You're getting an overwhelming response to change it, I'd suggest you do or you'll lose your reader base. I know my IP address has shown up a lot less on your web stats.

We're working on it. To quote Blizzard, every line of feedback is read and evaluated.

One of the more immediate changes in the next couple of days will be one that reduces the height of the preview sections by a good 80-100pixels, by removing some of the lines of the item updates box and the latest posts preview box next to it.

If that's not enough, we'll be adding a collapsing feature to the entire preview section, all it needs is a couple hours of coding.

We are not unwilling to change the parts of the layout, but it's exam-time, the work we can do each day is limited.

personally, I like the new design of the site since it's easier to see certain things in it. Also, when you add color to your posts, they stand out more which make me happy. As far as the poster, you should really stop dwelling in the past.

I have extensive experience with vBulletin skinning. If you'd like a hand please feel free to send me a private message and I'll be happy to forward the proper person my credentials and a resume.

we should head to the other post where people are adding things they don't like.

The re-organization of the items on the website is already available using the plus sign in the frontpage navbar.

The text background color will be changed from #f8f8f8 to #e8e8e8, it's been already pointed out to me on IRC
