Wonder if some one could help me really quick with a link to a lvling guild or just give some advice on lvling a brand new mage.

I just got 3 heirloom items, shoulders, trinket and staff, and before i head to lvl this mage i would like a bit of help with spell rotation and specs.

I leveled my mage a lot with AoE.

This is basically what I would start with. I didn't take shatter, since it kinda bothered me, left some mobs behind and stuff - I might be wrong there. After those talents I would basically spend all my points in +slow +damage and -mana for AoE spells.

If you don't want to do AoE just take a normal frost specc ...

I haven't played mage in more then a year, and a lot of things have changed since back then. Don't listen to this post unless someone else confirms it or tells you to do something else :)

Well first of all aoe grinding is close to useless now because of the buff to quest xp, BUT if you can do some aoe on quest mobs then go right ahead. Unfortunaly that is so rare that it is no longer worth to have a special aoe spec.

There are ofc people that roll a mage just because they want to aoe grind and you can still do it quest are just better xp pr hour.

Well now to something usefull if you just want it to be an alt you can play any way you want and still get to lvl 80 in a pretty short time, so if you have always been dreaming about a full fire/arecane what ever spec then go right ahead and have a ton of fun.

If you like me, like to prepare for something and then doing it (Im guessing you are because you have gathered 3 heirlooms) then wow-pro got a decent guide, I dont fully agree with the guy that wrote it but take alook at it, 99% of the stuff you propaly already know or could figure out just by looking at the talents but well, it can never harm

If you would like to try some aoe grinding I must first warn you:
1. You are going to die alot
2. Its only going to be fun in the beginning
3. In the end you are going to hate it.

But there is a pretty nice video guide called: "Iin frost we trust", its very outdated but still usefull. The only thing that has changed is that blizzard can crit so alot more talents are usefull.

One final thing that got nothing to do with leveling is blink you get it at lvl 20 and warriors dont get intercept untill lvl 30. So if you are started to get a litlle bored around lvl 20-29 then take a break and do some bgs. You are
1. going to be pretty well geared because of herilooms and
2. Having the extreme movement advantede against melee that you are never going to get again.

But the most importent thing is have fun if you dont like frost spec arecane if you dont like that try fire. Nothing is worse thing playing a class talent tree you dont like but try it atleast because you might like it in the end.
