I have recently come to the conclusion that I am doing something wrong, although presently I have no idea what it is.
armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Mannoroth&n=Shadowscurge
Opener: VT - > MB - > DP - > MF - > MF -> SW:P
Rotation: Finish Flay > Refresh VT > Refresh DP > MB > Cast Flay
Sorry I can't get any WWS at the time but as soon as I get a chance I will post some.
I use Quartz to monitor debuff timers and latency. I am having trouble with phantom resists on Mind Flay and Mind Flay clipping. I have tried waiting an extra 200 or so MS after MF finishes in order to miss fewer ticks of MF with no significant performance increase. I am stuck around 3000DPS without full buffs (in 10 mans ect), and about 3200DPS with flasks, food, and full raid buffs.
Any ideas?

I do ... Opener: SW:P - >VT - > MB - > DP - > MF - > MF, get the dot up 1st, and MF refreshes it
and I use a spam macro for MF
#showtooltip Mind Flay
/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Flay
I do ... Opener: SW:P - >VT - > MB - > DP - > MF - > MF, get the dot up 1st, and MF refreshes it
and I use a spam macro for MF
#showtooltip Mind Flay
/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Flay
i dont think you should use that opener, from what i heard from my priest friends is that SW:P is bugged and wont gain extra dmg from shadow weaving when you get to 5 stacks if you applied it with 1 stack of weaving.
not 100% sure if that's what happens but they always wait for 5stacks of shadow weaving and then they cast SW:P
also there's another bug with mind flay which makes it deal dmg after it has been fully cast and if you start casting somthing before the dmg is dealt then the dmg wont be dealt. again, in not 100% sure since im not a priest and dont investigate this stuff, this what i remember my priest friends telling me, plz correct me if im wrong.

The correct opening is VT -> MB -> SW:D -> DP -> on use trinket that increases SP -> SW:P.
This gives you five stacks of Shadow Weaving and the extra SP for the cast of SW:P. On many fights, this is the only time you need to cast SW:P, so you want to use your trinket to make it the most powerful.
Then, as the fight progresses, you want to use these spells like so. There is no set rotation, only a priority system:
1) If VT is running out, recast.
2) If DP is running out, recast.
3) Otherwise, MB if off cool down.
4) Otherwise MF.
So the idea is to always keep VT and DP ticking away, cast MB when off cooldown and use MF in the middle of all of this to damage and to refresh SW:P.
This gives you max DPS.
It is worthy to note that when patch 3.0.8 comes out, SW:D will no longer give two stacks of Shadow Weaving, so a new opening will need to be used, which prolly should be:
VT -> DP -> MB -> MF -> trinket -> SW:P.
Apparently, MF is applying two ticks of Shadow Weaving. This is not written in stone yet, but I am including it for completeness.

Yea the correct idea is to get 5 stacks of shadow weaving and allow a few seconds for other classes to get their spell dmg bonuses up on the boss before casting SW:P. Problem is, i have seen WWS of priests pushing well over 4k on patchwerk and have yet to get even close to that number.
