hi, i just rerolled in most extreme way, from allic to horde from healer to warlock and i must say i like it alot and i think i do a lot of thinks pritty good now!
but i just respec affliction and i noted that my dps in heroics is pritty low, comparing to other dps classes... is this my fold? or does everybody have this problem?
So I got a few questions!
does somebody have some kind of uber rotation that i didn’t know about?
Does somebody have some imba dot timer?
Are there any other addons I should have?
Any other tips?
Thx for your time!

I rerolled a resto druid to warlock this xpack as well, and Falleman's alliction guide has helped me immensely.

That should answer any questions you have pretty much.
He explains rotation, but basically Shadowbolt, Haunt, CoA, Corruption, UA, Immolate, Siphon life, then refresh things as needed and spam shadow bolt as a filler until 25%, then you do the same thing except use Drain Soul as the filler instead of shadowbolt.
For mods I use DoTimer.

Very nice mod to keep track of dots.
As for DPS in heroics, what do you mean? Are you talking about just boss dps being shitty, or trash dps being shitty?
Affliction will pretty much suck at trash since everything dies so quickly. I just seed spam on heroic trash, because we aoe everything down for the most part unless it's a pull of just two guys, then I just roll full dots on both and sbspam. Trash DPS really doesn't matter very much though.
Def read Falleman's guide though. I went from doing like 1800 dps in heroics to around 2700-3200 (on bosses), although I got a lot of upgrades and things as well. (yay for starting with greens when everyone else has full sunwell shit lol)

Affliction will always lag behind some other specs on heroics and 5 mans because it relies on dots that have a long duration and most of the mobs you fight simply die too fast to benefit them. To some degree, adjusting which dots you put up according to the life of the mobs can help with trash/heroics dps but you are still fighting an uphill battle.

Yah thats it, You can just see how powerful is affliction in 10man or 25man, mainly on long fights.

As the other poster has said above. Affliction shines when it comes to Boss fights (Mainly 10/25man)
Trash dps sucks for the most part...
If you would like higher Trash DPS and still good Boss DPS I would go Felguard/Emberstorm (0/41/30) or Chaos Bolt/Demonic Aegis(0/13/51 +7)
I use classtimer to track my dots

As someone said, your trash (and even instance/heroic boss) dps will usually be fairly low. Once you get into a raid though, your dps will go up considerably especially on raid bosses.
As for a rotation....
Shadowbolt -> Haunt -> Unstable Affliction -> Immolate -> Corruption -> Curse of Agony -> Siphon Life
Then spam Shadowbolt and keep up all your dots. Once below 25% low, use drain life as it has a higher dps than SB does. You don't need to do the full channel, just one tick (so 3 seconds) will do. But make sure that you keep your dots up all the time!
Make sure you've glyphed out properly. The glyphs you'll want to use (major ones anyways) are Corruption, Siphon Life, and Immolate.
There is a very good affliction guide on the official warlock forums. Link is:

Spec if important too, so make sure that you've speced out properly.

I'd recommend doing mutli-target DoTing, I can get a lot of trash damage from that in 10 and 25-man, so it's not completely impossible.
But yeah, most classes are easier to manage trash DPS.
Then again, if trash ain't the problem, why care about the DPS on em?

first post for me here.... i'm whoring google at work trying to kill some time.
anyway, i hope this helps the author..
there is no uber rotation, because it will vary with each situation - and even with each boss. you really just need to know your class inside & out, and know the fights as much as possible (even sections of trash). you're also going to need to get to know your tank pretty well so you can figure out how to handle 3+ mob pulls (i.e. to soc spam or dot all the targets). here are a few thoughts to consider though...
1 - can you start the fight with a cast time, or not. there are many fights which require you to run into position (i.e. stacking or whatever). why waste the time running? go ahead and throw your curse, corruption, and SL
2 - is this a spank & tank or stop & go type fight... this matters because if it's stop & go, you may want to get your cast-time dot's out there before your instants, immediately contradicting my first statement! (i.e. the 2nd boss on h nexus).
3 - just a general note. don't cast haunt before casting your other dot's. why? it gives a 20% boost to them, so there's no point in getting it in there before you've got dot's up. more on this later though.
on trash, consider these things
1 - how much life do the mobs have. this will not only affect the curse you use, but will affect how many dot's you place on the target. sometimes you will produce more damage by only doing curse->corruption->sb spam as opposed to adding haunt or other things
2 - how many mobs are there AND what is your tank's capability to AoE threat AND what other AoE classes are in your group. all of this will determine whether you use soc's, multiple dot's, or rain of fire (yes, sometimes it's better).
3 - what is the most dangerous mob. it might be necessary to burn down the caster, or whatever, before even thinking about the others. also, you may have the opportunity to spell lock a caster, or something.
i guess the moral of the story is you need to find what works for you. you are not going to get a significant increase in dps just by adjusting your rotation, because honestly over the course of a 5 minute long fight, what really matters is that you are keeping all your dot's up, working in as many SB's as possible, and managing your mana - how you accomplish that is up to you.
as a direct answer, on a typical spank & tank fight this is my rotation
Curse->Corruption->UA->Haunt->SL->Immolate->Shadow Bolts
a lot of that has to do with how i arrange my speed bar, but that's another story. here's the reasoning behind my rotation - 1: the curse i typically use is CoE which is a raid benefit and takes priority over my personal dps, 2: corruption is the most powerful dot, it should go up asap, 3: UA is second most powerful dot, it goes up 2nd, 4: why do i cast Haunt before SL, also contradicting what i said earlier? simple, you can immediately cast SL following Haunt because the GCD will be over at the end of the cast - which means you can set SL before Haunt actually hits the target (it's fairly slow), 5: SL, just explained, 6: SB spam, obviously the most dps.
typically after that i cast Life Tap before Haunt dispels (important!) and will reset UA immediately followed by Immolate (but never early). SL when needed.
