Feral -> Moonkin

Good evening,

when Wotlk hits, I plan to switch from Feral Druid to Balance Druid. I love the stylish look of the (Alliance)Moonkin. However, I would like to know if Sunwell gear (which I have access to) will be "still good" in Naxxramas ?

Is is worth to spend my DKP on Sunwell Gear, or will it EASILY be replaced by some questreward ?

Also please tell me if the T6 4-Set Bonus will still be "good" at lvl 80 ?

thank you, but what I wanted to know from a "Raidkin" is, if a Idiot, who never ever accomplished anything in BC will be capable to OUTDPS my beloved wellgeared BC-Moonkin.

So you want to keep your 70 gear forever? That's just plain stupid.
Get the Balance gear you can now, if you level Balance (which I highly suggest to get a feel for the spec and how to play) you will make leveling that much easier.

No, I dont, I just wanted to know if the stuff you get while leveling, is overwhelming the stuff you can get in Sunwell

I doubt you'll be able to replace everything with leveling gear. You'll probably be able to hold onto a few pieces into Naxx until you get your drops from there. However, remember from Vanilla, that people carried pieces of T3 straight into Kara with them.

So, to answer your question on spending DKP, yes, its worth it, unless you plan on hoarding it for WoTLK.

Not by a longshot, unlike vanilla into BC, gear jump is not nearly as dramatic. Sunwell gear lasts most class to 80 with a few pieces being replaced yes, but 90% of your gear will get you to 80 and start into heroics/Naxx for upgrades.

The gear should last you into Naxx, epsecially the 4pc T6, espeically if you get the belt/boots/bracers +1

Most classes do. You will replace it with t7/7.5, but it will last until then easily.

I think the items t6's will be still ok till lvl 78-80 (especially belt boots and bracers).
And lvling with balance is very very easy (I have %27 unbuffed crit chance and 1280 spell dmg in my boomkin dru) Not only the burst dmg but the healing you can do by your self while grinding is very good(you can't heal your self in feral when you pulled more then 8-9 mobs)
Now I pull lvl 70 mobs x10 barkskin+hurricane then typhoon. Most of them are death And treants also does good dmg(500-600 900 crits)

Beta tester here. id like to share a bit of input.

T4 will get replaced almost instantly
t5 will last you until mid 70s, id suggest starting to replace the items even if the upgrade is small, it does help.
t6 will last you untill entry level raid (naxx and heroics) and for some classes a few pieces seem to last almost throughout naxx.

For leveling, ANY epic at lv 70 will help you and give you a somewhat advantage over other players without said epics. but remember, epic is a colour, if a blue is even slightly better TAKE IT (and yes some t6 will get replaced before you hit 80. tuff luck :P)

what you should keep in mind is that from vanila to TBC, there was a huge cap between gear. and even then, t3 lasted untill karazhan .

thank you for all your replies. Since 3 weeks I am now raiding the nerfed BC-content.
Although my Equip is rather weak on some slots (Weapon, offhand, rings, trinkets) I felt like.. WOHOHH. DPS is impressive. What I noticed yesterday in Black Temple, is that when ignoring Eclipse and going 100% Starfire, my Dps "felt" much better than spamming Wrath until Eclipse proccs and then switching to Starfire. With 4-Pieces T6, can you please confirm following cycle is the "best" ?

(Treants and Starfall I use on CD in Bossfights of course)

You have the some problems with the cycle I think. First I start with treans(which can do over 40k dmg and they does no treat.) Then I fallow with imp FF.
Then I do moonfire. Then insect swarm.Then wrath spam till I got eclipse. When I have eclipse(pop up trinket) and start starfire until eclipse gone(8.4k crits ) Then renew the imp FF. Then endless starfire spams till you got eclipse)(wrath) (your moonfire wont expire on target by this way with the new glyphWhen you got the second eclipse(pop up trinket) (no need to do insect )
swarm at this 2nd phase of the cycle) wrath spam(4.5k wrath crits)
Then do the phase 1 and phase 2 with the order till the end of the fight.(I got near 2.1k dps with this cycle)Items( 5x t6 %32 crit 120 spell haste 133 spel hit)
