Mage dmg???

Is mage dmg going to be competitive in the expansion... currently hunter, warlocks, and rogues are the top dps classes in the game (once you get into SWP)... I rolled my mage because the guild needed on despreatly bad and I was wondering if I should level him first in wrath... or if their dmg again is supposed to be 2nd to other classes... oh and im not talking about PVP at all... all I do/care about is PVE... lol if i did pvp aswell as how much I raid.... they would call me a hermit for my lack of social life...

Currently in the beta mages roflstomp just about everything. Surv Hunter was a close call, but they just toned down Explosive Shot, so bet that changed. Mage kind of deserves it, being the flimsiest class in the game.

Plus, with Mirror Image you have a 3m God Mode button. No, I'm not exaggerating, check it out.

I don;t disagree with much that you said, but I would draw a line at

I assume your not refering to Frost, which can slow you in 101 ways, trap you on the ground in about 10 ways and now Stun you completely

fire and arcane sure they might do ALOT of damage and be weak, but I'm sure most people find a Hunter who isn't BM is easy to kill, a lock without SL/SL is quite easy etc, specs make alot of difference to survivability and Frost makes a mage survive quite well

Well hopefully we will be more usefull in PVE... couldnt care less if we die in a sec in boooring PVP.

He mentioned not giving a damn about pvp, and if you're frost in pve you should just die somewhere.

I assume your not refering to FrostYeah, like pointed out I mean in PvE. Our PvE trees don't really and much of anything in defense other than Fiery Payback now lowering incoming dmg when we're low health. Compared to how much dmg lock currently puts out with usually 2x's the amount of health and better ways to restore mana, mage needed a dps buff.
