I'm really annoyed by the fact that Blizzard is renaming talents from fire only to all spells. Master of Elements now also counting for Arcane I can live with, but Impact counting for all spells? No please ... Every Ice lance will have 10% stun chance, besides the fact then can be frozen at the same time? Please beserious this is laughing with the fire tree. I had hoped on a different developing of the mage trees, now to me frost+fire will be the pvp cookie cutter and Arcane with a bit of Fire the pve one, why go deep fire to nerf yourself by default? It's a shame they focus all on arcane and frost and the attempts for elemental mages will be the biggest part in frost anyway so there goes the theory of 'elementalist'.
I never made a whine thread about changes but now with the improved scorch change this is totally the drop that will make every fire mage piss off.

their doing that to all pure dps classes (apart from maybe hunters)
the tree that used to be the main dps gets nerfed into oblivion (warlock destro, rogue combat, mage fire)

I agree fire hasn't received too much love this time around, full fire was weird in TBC (note the typical fire build was 10/48/3) and will even be weirder in WOTLK. I do think anyway that it might be pretty fun BG wise, average in pve and useless in arena so we have the same situation as always except for its pve performance.
Also noteworthy is that the same way fire talents have been modified to benefit from all spells, there's also a bunch of arcane and frost ones that have followed the same destiny. I think this change can only be good for mages in general and adds up a lot of possibilities when choosing your talent build.
About Improved Scorch, it got a great buff in the start of the beta when it did 10% plus damage to target with all magical schools. Then they changed the 10% damage bonus to 10% chance to crit, by far not as good as the previous bonus. If we add that Winter's Chill does exactly the same thing as Improved Scorch (the only change is what triggers each of them) the fact we have two talents that do the same is pretty stupid. The only reasonable thing to think about it is that it's that way so you can have that bonus either if you go fire or frost. Also, the improved scorch glyph got nerfed, it's not that everyone should count on it but it was a great plus for getting improved scorch over winter's chill. The most recent change which will make scorch only proc from spells that actually hit seems kinda logic and fair.
Anyways i'm way more concerned with the Arcane Blast nerf, just when it was getting interesting they throw in such great penalty in mana when you recast it... wasn't the point of this spell to stack casts so you could get speed (before) or damage (recently)? Now all you get is huge mana penalty for recasting the spell which all in all results in a virtual cooldown while you wait till the charge dissapears.
