Heya guys,
Heres my armoury link
www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kargath&n=Z%C3%AB%C3%BBs
Basically I was wondering if I could get a rundown on how you think my gear is set up at the moment - gem wise and gear wise - what needs to be improved the most.
I will be joining an 5/6 guild soon so I will have access to everything in swp nearly - as Im their only ele shammy.
Aside from that - I was wondering are their any hardcore theorycrafters that have been playing beta who know if our damage scales well against rogues and warlocks engame?
I would like to know some of your talent selections, also will you be raiding as fire? Or nature?
Basically my goal at the moment is to attain gear untill I am around 25 percent unbuffed crit (I am at the moment but will go down with haste heavy gear)
I want around 350 haste - Im only at 77 or something now
And I want to be around 1200 unbuffed spell damage.
Any thoughts sugestions - or anything that Can improve me I am all ears.
Thanks in advance guys,
Cheers
Niley

there is zero ele shaman only loot in swp btw. Its all shared between resto shamans/other casters.
Gem for spell haste, don't gem for crit(haste/damage or pure haste), get blessings deck, get rid of that trash helm, even season 2 is better.
If youre going to 5/6 guild, Your damage compared to others will be really low, I break 2200 dps on brut and still end up 10th-11th :)
edit. 25% is good number but as You get more sunwell gear, it wont happen, Im at around 1200 spell damage, 23% crit and 450 haste, I just aim at being 40% crit buffed, seems to work well.

i am rr'ing a shaman for wotlk and have been playing around with one on wotlk beta a bit.
unlike most people think you are not a fire or nature shaman you use both in a rotation.
lava burst- (890 mana) 2 sec cast 8 sec cd (auto crits with flameshock up and consumes dot) 1014-1286 dam
lightening bolt-(395) 2 sec cast 754-860
chain lightening-(1027) 1.5 sec cast 6 sec cd 1021-1167
(all info is with my current spec)
because of this i figure the best rotation becomes
lavaburst-flameshock-lightening boltx3-lavaburst...(sorry i can't abbreivate both LB:()
with totems up i found this to work well while with replacing a lightening bolt with thunderstorm when it is up to keep mana up.
also at beginning of the fight you can just flameshock lavaburst lightening bolt flameshock lightening boltx2 [lavaburst flameshock lightening bolt x3] this rotation should maximize damage at beginning and set you up to get into your rotation which is bracketed off.
my idea is to have flameshock up for 8 seconds for the dot ticks while lava burst is on cd and use lightening bolts in between to fill rotation
because of this its a lot harder figure out a cookie cutter spec but yes i would put points in both nature and fire damage spells.
if mana is a serious issue just spam lightening bolt
EDIT:http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=55300015010153510240135100000000000000000000000000055200021005000000000000000
this is the spec that i am thinking as of now b/c flame shock is only 20yards no need for extra range on lightening bolt but i am still working on tweaking the spec.

Hey Jusfine =) I remember you from when I was in HotC.
I've been playing Ele for a long time now, and it's a pretty fun spec if you know how to do it.
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents2.html?tal=55300015100153510250135100000000000000000000000000005235000004000000000000000
Would be my spec of choice, max LO is very necessary and in the long run, alot more DPS than an extra 1% crit. The points in resto and some of the Ele stuff such as imp fire nova totem are negligible, but that's the basic spec to go with come wotlk.

Heya thanks alot for the useful advice - I know my helm atm is not so good - but I mean it has a meta decent intel and stam and some crit there - its not that bad. I was using the mage/warlock helm from ZA before so no meta vs the 30 spellhaste that I had gemmed into that = was that a wise move?
Also How do we scale in damage compared to warlocks and rogues - will the raid still only take one elemental shaman cus our damage is so much lower than warlocks / rogues?
As you can see from my armoury I have the archimond shield - but not the helm as It was given away each time to the warriors - or hunters as I was considerd the least in need of upgrade to dps - they said all I needed was to put down totems. Which is rubbish for brutallus I need 4 piece at least.
The guild Im joining talked about maybe runing hyjal - for it - or I may just get bracers belt and boots - and use them for 4 piece - and get a higher dps than t6 helm cloth headpiece? what's your advice here?
Could you explain your rotation again please mate in wotlk ?
I take it stand 20 yards away - flameshock - lightning bolt untill flame is nearly down, than lava burst - flameshock than continue?
is there a significant amount of dps with this vs pure lb spam as now?
Has our lb goten a better co-efficient ? Cus I hate criting for 3- 4 k
when my mates warlock can hit for 4.5 - 5 k and crit in the 10s
Im leaving my gems the way they are now - untill I get new gear - I plan to always use 5haste / 6 spelldmg gems - this a wise choice? or at least use those gems untill im 1200 unbuffed damage - than switch to useing 10 haste gems?
Any advice greatly appreciated again thanks.

They also should roll into storm earth and fire where it talks about flameshock "Increases periodical damage by 100 percent - also increases range by 15 yards" that would be mad - no more standing so goddam close to bosses.
And another think will any ele shammy or enhance shammy be able to eat our flameshock? if so that would ruin our dps rotation as well.

not sure yet with who will do more damage since i haven't raided much but i am guessing it will be similar to bc and really in raids there is no need for more than 3-4 shamans in the raid then totems become useless
you got most of the rotation idea correct except instead of waiting for the flameshock to almost disappear you are waiting 8 seconds of 12 seconds of flameshock's duration while lavaburst is on cooldown
lavaburst-flameshock(8 sec left on cd)-lightening bolt(6 sec)-lightening bolt (4 sec)- lightening bolt (2 sec)-lava burst (0 sec)
this should work till you get a bit of haste where you will need to add another lightening bolt to the rotation as it just work now even with wrath of air totem (5% haste)
need to check on exactly how much more damage lava burst + flameshock does compared to lightening boltx2
i will do that tomorrow since i am raiding soon
BTW Kamayari who were you in HOTC when you were a member

Could someone reply to my current gear - and set up as I put up before? high dps cloth healm with meta vs t6 helm? and using other pieces of tier 6 ie belt bracers or boots to get 4 piece?
Also with your talents that you chose - why no eye of the storm? with buffs effecting the entire raid you will probably get improved sactity aura - or the one that stops knockback on spells - making our spells pretty much no knockback whatsoever in raids - with alot of aoe flying around I think this would be a large increase in dps ?

Hey-
If I were you, I'd check out maxdps.com . They rate gear by how much DPS each piece contributes, so you'd be able to pick the best possible piece for each slot out of what you have access to. It really is a great reference.
I'd definitely get the 4 piece T6. My recommendation would be the bracers (PvP gear always has slightly inferior stats).
Eye of the Storm is essentially useless in PvE. There aren't many situations where you'll be standing in range of aoe, and if that does occur, you'll be more worried about moving out of it than continuing your cast. If anything, Elemental Warding offers a better PvE boost, you take less damage from said aoes and would thus be less likely to die.
Ele Shaman currently are lacking in DPS, so most Sunwell guilds only bring one. This is supposedly being fixed, but we won't know for sure until the numbers are final. Either way, with Bloodlust/Heroism no longer being spammable, with a 5min debuff, I wouldn't expect min/maxing guilds to take more than two shamans to any raid.
Blues have already said that when the final numbers come out, it's intended for FS/LB/LvB to be the best DPS rotation. Of course, that's nothing to really worry about right now, since numbers aren't finalized. Right now, you'll pretty much just be tossing LBs and CL when it's up, with just pure LB spam once you get the 4pc.

Also, there is a glyph that increases Flame Shock range to 30 yds. This will be pretty much required for a raiding elemental. As for the rotation, I'm not sure because I didn't get a beta key, but I think it'd look something like this:
Flame Shock (begin 12s duration)
Lightning Bolt (10s left, depending on haste)
Lightning Bolt (8s left, depending on haste)
Lightning Bolt (6s left, depending on haste)
Chain Lightning (4.5s left, depending on haste)
Lava Burst (consume shock)
And Thunderstorm when it's up before the Lava Burst, for the mana return.

Heya - any good macros anyone can come up with using above rotation?
Otherwise my dps will be gimp ass - with server side lag - and time for brain to think to click taken into account.
