Thread: Mage + ?

What class would compliment the mages abilities the most?

My g/f and I might return for a month or two after Cata release and I'm curious to know what the best combo would be for PvP/PvE fun.

We usually don't stick around too long because WoW gets stale quick, but any suggestions?

For PvP any part of RMP (rogue/mage/priest) is good, but of those only Mage/Priest seems valid enough for PvE as well. Remember to tell her to get used to Disc healing/bubbling as it's THE way of healing in PvP

Chicks seem to love priests. I'd say have her roll one. They make good healers in PvE and they're ideal partners in arena.

If you want to go together, best thing is something that can tank and something that can heal. I am mage and my GF is priest, no one wants a mage in guild or party (unless they know you previously and you are very good). I then rerolled warrior tank and well, insta party whenever we want to wherever we want, i can do a 10 man much easier whenever i want. Mage+priest alone is not a good combo, only whit Rogue. When i play warrior with my GF´s priest is like having a ton of extra privileges and even feels like a more powerfull class.

She is actually the Mage and I was trying to compliment her with another class.

I did theory up a Priest for the healing, but i feel like it lacks control.

I also theoried up a Warlock for +magic curse + more control and burst damage.

I even considered an elemental shaman for the spell power increase + healing.. but they lack control.

Didn't think about a rogue though.. hrmm.

Oh, well then if you're not down with being a Priest.. I'd say roll a Rogue. They're lots of fun.

Paladin for epic grinding and tanking in dungeons, as if you are grouped with a tank you get insta dungeon pop.

Druid would be fun IMO. If you go feral you wont be competing with her for gear, but if you dont' want to tank or heal, go rogue. Paladin would be another good choice. If you don't want to heal, don't go priest. Warlock + mage could do some damage together, but you'd be competing for the same loot.

I agree with druid. Mage/druid is also a decent comp for 2's as both feral or resto.
